Pre-Order Borderlands 2 from us for 10% off and help me get a tattoo! Yes it activates on Steam!

I am a huge Borderlands 2 fan and I want this to be our best selling pre-order ever. So I've drawn a line in the sand. If, from now until launch, we take 40,000 more preorders than where we were on 7/2/2012 I will get a Borderlands tattoo on my back.

I'm just going to say this now:
Alpha Protocol PC is a SEVERELY underrated game.
Tony is there any chance you guys will carry other activision games for pc download, mainly talking about games like blur and the earlier cod titles?

I'd be interested in some Activision games also. Been wanting to pick up Blur for a while now.
Yeah we're working on getting the full Activision catalog.

Also,

Just confirmed:

Divinity II Dragon Knight Saga - $5.99 - Steam
Divinity II Dragon Knight Saga - $5.99 - DRM free

Also, anyone who buys Borderlands this weekend (starting tomorrow) will get an additional 10% off ($6) Borderlands 2 pre-order, bringing it to ~$48. Additionally, if you've ever purchased Borderlands from us, you'll get this same credit towards the pre-order of Borderlands 2.

Cheers,
Tony

Divinity 2: DKS is really good.
At that price = A STEAL.

I own Borderlands: GOTY from you guys already.
So, does a code for 10% off Borderlands 2 show up in my mail-box...tomorrow?
Or does the BL2 discount get automatically get added to my Amazon account?

Oh, How long does that discount last for?
Kingdoms of Amalur rocks, got it when it was previously on sale and been playing only that one since then!
It's pretty good, yes.
Though, the Dead Kel DLC is great.

Good question:

1. The discount will be auto applied to your account so you'll just need to checkout with it.
2. We'll notify you via an email that your credit is ready. It should be titled "Your promotional credit".

Cheers,
Tony

Even though I already own this on 3-CD disc from Retail...
Does that mean you'll be getting Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines?

Seriously - if you could get for sale both DRM-FREE copy and Steam copy of that game, that'd be pretty cool. :)

And I'd hope every gamer on here who's missing Bloodlines and is looking for it wants it.
I got the DLCs too :)
Sweet!
I haven't touched Teeth of Naros yet quest-line yet, since I needed a break from KOA: Reckoning.

FYI guys just got word that Borderlands GOTY + Promo Code for pre-order isn't starting until 1PM tomorrow. Will add to OP. Pming Xanchui as well for the Slickdeals post.

Cheers,
Tony

Hmm, not sure if this is a new thing, but in one of my Magicka DLC items in my "Games and Software Library", it has a link to "Send as a Gift". Anyone else see this in their accounts? I don't see it for a lot of my other stuff that aren't activated yet though.

Tony,

I know its your new baby so feel free to say no but can we put all those FTP games in a spoiler? It just makes the whole thing really hard to go through in my opinion.

Either this or have ALL the current deals before the F2P section begins.

Wow, that's a great price on Divinity 2 DKS. Thanks for mentioning this before. You've saved us $4 over the steam price :applause:

I'd love a King's Bounty sale as well, though I only need Crossworlds.. In that same genre I'd love an Elven Legacy Collection sale.

Finally, can I suggest a bundle that includes something like this. I really need it after the last month

You may want to pick up Fantasy Wars as well since Elven Legacy is the sequel to Fantasy Wars. They aren't really connected and you can play either, but might as well start from the 1st one. I played Elven Legacy initially and then picked up FW during the winter sale for cheap!

I got DKS during the march sale but just couldn't get into it. Lots of folks say good things about it but somehow the first hour of playing just didn't hook me in.

Got distracted a bit with the witcher so maybe once I survive that one, I'll try this again.

BTW - I hadn't really paid too much attention to steam sales in the past but the recent summer one seemed to have very high prices compared to what I've been used to with Amazon. There were some cheap finds here and there but almost always I found that I'd paid a much lower price for a game to Tony (errr, Amazon ;)) than what was listed on steam. Maybe I'm just too cheap...

Oooo, I'd love a sale on Alpha Protocol! Definitely an underrated game. Any chance that might be offered as a Steam version as well, Tony?

steam version of cod warchest for < $10 would be awesome!!!
Any chance on Kings Bounty franchise sale again ... would love to pick up the Platinum edition!
As I recall, 1C is supposed to be in the process of removing the DRM from their older games. Once they deliver the DRM-free titles to Amazon, Tony said he'd run another 1C catalog sale.

I'm waiting on that sale, too; but it's pretty much up to 1C to get the DRM stripped out first.
Maybe I'm remembering this wrong, but didn't Borderlands 2 have $10 credit/gift card promotion on it when you preordered before?
That's always been the console version. A few people have asked about gettin the same bonus on PC DL but no luck so far.

Make sure you also get the James Bond games, which Activision makes. :applause:

Amazon's downloader is the worst one I have ever seen.

Not allowing you to specify a download location is only one problem, the other problem is, after getting a 5.5GB game, it sat there and downloaded the whole thing, and while it unpacks, it says it has aborted.:wall:

setup-1.bin
setup-2.bin
and the download log is the only thing in the directory, each setup file is about 2GB big, yet there is no way to fix the download/unpack!
You must download the whole thing again.

This is highly unacepptable, never had any issues at all with any other download service, and I have tried them all.

Amazon's downloader is just brain dead.

Borderlands GOTY - $7.49 - Steam

What happened to the non-Steam version of this? Borderlands wasn't a Steamworks game, i.e. required Steam no matter where you bought it. That is what I want.
What happened to the non-Steam version of this? Borderlands wasn't a Steamworks game, i.e. required Steam no matter where you bought it. That is what I want.
Borderlands was converted to Steamworks last August in a patch.

I don't see that as a problem because where you download the files is irrelevant since you can move them wherever you want. The downloaded files are just the installation files for a game like what you would get on a physical disc. They are not the installed game files like with Steam. And, with Steam you can't move a game elsewhere and still run it.

20120725-175906 errorDialog_Windows.cpp( 29) : Content: Unable to open afp fileP:\\Divinity II- The Dragon Knight Saga\Divinity2.afp
It looks like you deleted that file (which is decrypted to get the game's installer files) before it finished being extracted.

By the way, your Amazon game downloads are supposed to be located in a subdirectory on your desktop. How did you manage to get the *.afp file for that game to download elsewhere?
Borderlands was converted to Steamworks last August in a patch.
That patch only applied to the Steam version though, and it only added some Steam tracking to the game so Gearbox could monitor playthroughs. Non-Steam owners did not get that patch because they don't need it.

There has never been a credit on the PC version, only 10% off the PC Download.

The downloader sending files to the desktop can be an issue for SSD hard drives because the unnecessary moving of files isn't ideal.

Also, you can move a game from Steam and still play it by manually creating junctions or using an application like Steam Mover

You sure you have enough space free on the drive? I was having similar crashes until I realized you need at least double the space free. So for a 5.5 GB game you need AT LEAST 11GB but preferably more.

The downloader DLs the full 5.5 GB and then extracts the 5.5 GB from the DL. So there is a short period of time where you have a 5.5GB DL and a 5.5 GB extracted file on your system at the same time. If you have less than 11 GB free space, the DLer will crash during the extract process and you will need to DL the entire thing all over.

Incorrect.
First it downloads the *.afp file. Then it unpacks that, and then you have the normal setup stuff for the game.

It looks like you deleted that file (which is decrypted to get the game's installer files) before it finished being extracted.
Nope, I wasn't even at the computer, I just came back to the error message. So whatever it did, it did it itself. There is no info in the log file why it thought it didn't need that afp file, and nuked it. Heck, I even tried to recover said file using undelete, but that could salvage it.

By the way, your Amazon game downloads are supposed to be located in a subdirectory on your desktop. How did you manage to get the *.afp file for that game to download elsewhere?
I had to fool the brain dead downloader.
All you need to do is create a dummy file on your C drive, and then the downloader tells you there isn't enough room on the C drive, so where do you want to put it...
Once you tell it the directory you want it to use (which should ALWAYS be asked!) then it goes and downloads the afp file.
Once it starts to download the file, you can delete the temp file you created.
Since my C drive has 45GB free, I made the dummy file via the command line (running in admin mode) fsutil file createnew killme 42949672960 which makes a file called "killme" that is 40GB in size, in the directory you are in.

What should be done is, have X afp files (based on the size of the download), and start to unpack those 1 by 1, and then once the unpack is done, then, and only then delete the afp files.

Yeah, had 45GB free on the C drive, and 500GB free on the download directory.

I believe Alpha BROtocol is a Steamworks game.

I can choose where to download Amazon's installation files. I just save the downloader file wherever I want the installation files to save, and then run the downloader. It's always worked that way for me.
