Hey CAGS,

I’ve got some news I’m both excited and sad to share with you at the same time. I’ll be leaving the Digital Video Games team in Mid-March to join the marketing team for Amazon.com’s Loyalty and Rewards program, Amazon Coins. My boss and I have talked extensively about how to maintain and continue our presence here and across the other communities we’ve created in the past couple of years. To that end I’d like to introduce you to Josh, who take over monitoring, updating, and responding to this thread. Josh will be ramping up over the next couple of weeks, he  will be posting shortly to introduce himself.

Now that the “what’s going on” part of the message is out of the way I want to tell you all how much I love CAG and the posters here. This was the first community I joined when I started this job (anyone still remember that first thread?) and all of you have had a huge hand in shaping how we think about and execute Community Development and Management here at Amazon, which has in turn shaped my career these last two and a half years.

I started to write out a section calling out the regular posters and realized the list would be both overly long and incomplete at the same time. Instead I’d like to thank you all again, you all have my deep and sincere gratitude. I’ll still be around and my gaming accounts aren’t going anywhere so feel free to hit me up anytime you want to chat. I’ll probably still hang out in the thread too :).

The Indie Store has launched!
Amazon.com is launching a storefront dedicated to supporting and promoting PC/Mac/Web-based Indie Games. Our Digital Video Games team is a small group of passionate gamers and we’re all really excited to help Indie developers reach more customers quickly by providing a quick and simple process for bringing their games to market. Additionally we’ll be supporting the Indie Store with a ton of promotions, both at and after launch. Many of these promotions are designed to give the developer the opportunity to maximize their revenue. For example, Amazon is forfeiting all royalties from bundle sales and passing them along directly to the developer, we’ve also created an “Indie Spotlight” program to help customers learn more about the games and developers they love. We view the Indie developers as some of the most creative in the industry and we want to help them continue to create new and innovative experience for customers.

Why we are doing this:

  • Allow customers to discover an entirely new category of games on Amazon.com
  • Help developers reach new customers quickly. Our onboarding process is straightforward and we want to sell every Indie game available
  • We want to leverage our strengths to support and help the developers who are driving forward innovation and creativity in the games industry

Thanks :) Someone posted a pic on Slickdeals, but it's kind of blurry. http://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=64602396&postcount=201 I want to try to price match Walmart or Best Buy, if I can find them in stock. Hopefully Target will just get more in stock since the sale is the whole week.

 
Best Buy and Target were all out of the Zelda bundles.  I ended one getting one from walmart.  The manager that I know turned me down hard but I ended up talkiing to a store manager and he said yes.

Moral of the story guys, if one says no go up until they say yes

Oh yeah the picture of the Zelda bundle being 149 really made the manager say yes.  Without that I think he would of said no also.

The must of made a million of these Zelda bundles. Two $149.99 sales since its been released and they are still available in most stores not named Target.

 
No Zeldas or Marios at either of my Targets.  No Zelda at my local Best Buy.  $150 for the Zelda bundle was my entry point for the 3DS, but the Best Buy lady offered to price match the Mario bundle with no problem, so I went for it.  Hope I enjoy it and it's worth the $150.

 
I went to the only Best Buy that had them and they refused to match it. I had an ad and the Target down the road had them in stock. I called the 800 number and the lady would not match it due to the "limited quantities" part of the ad. I told her that made no sense as it limited and it implies no rain checks.

The lady said their price matching policy was a little confusing, offered to sell me a 3DS XL for 150 and send me a $45 gift card to retain me as a customer. I did not buy the 3DS XL from them and will go back to Target tomorrow. I already have the game but I wanted the gold 3DS XL.

Just checked the Pre-Owned benefits 10% OFF pre-owned games

If the Pre-owned games are significantly lower than original price, or you get your choice of games at the store, then it is a good deal.

Stopped at the Overland Park Super Target. Guy working electronics was less than helpful. They only had one 3ds xl left, no bundles. Got him to print a raincheck receipt to see who had it in stock. Called all 5 without luck. On a whim stopped at the Best Buy up the street. Someone came right up to me to help, price matched without a problem and even stuffed the clear bag with ads so my son wouldn't see his XMAS gift. This year BB has really been excellent about price matching without an issue. I normally only go to BB as a last resort but they seem to be slowly offering better CS.

Was told by a Target CSR rep that they only retroactively PM for 14 days. 

I bought (and opened) a Zelda XL Bundle on the 27th. Where it is now the 16th she wouldn't issue a credit and I can't return/rebuy because it's opened.

Is 14 days the official policy? 

 
I was able to take back my receipt for the M&L Bundle I bought back on the 9th for the $180 - 20% coupon - 5% Redcard and they gave me back $32.59 for a grand total of $108.80 I paid for the M&L 3DS XL Bundle.... It made me decide that I'll get into handheld gaming.  Picked up the Zelda bundle downstate IL earlier in the week, where they had 22 of the Zelda bundles, and they matched that down also.  Merry Christmas to my wife and I!

Ammm .. you do realize that the adult diapers was for Outlast (a survival horror game ... ) and not Skyrim right .... so i think the lol was more about people getting so scared they shit their pants ... although with the amount of time people can spend sitting there getting lost in Skyrim adult diapers may also be a smart idea. Less bathroom breaks.

Thought I read Target only post purchase PM's 1 week after purchase, and only if it's in a weekly ad from Target.

Buy a gift card. Tell them you want to change method of payment. Use the gift card on the repurchase.

 
Howdy, I'm not sure if I got a clear understanding of this so I wanted to ask anyway. I preordered the Zelda 3DS XL from Gamestop at $220 and received it on November 22, now I see that there is a way to price match this badboy for $70 back. Does anybody know how I can go about and do this since it was an online purchase?

I do have the Zelda 3ds, original box, and that Target ad saved that was posted here before.

well while i didnt get anything game related today from this ad but i did get the man of steel blu ray/dvd combo pack for 5$ after using a rewrd zone coupon. this just came out recently and i saved 30$ :D. i hope next gen deals start to flow in as the new year is starting soon
 
Thanks OP and the poster who posted the Target sales tag. I showed them a 3DS on the website for $149 and that picture and the worker at Best Buy PM'd my Zelda 3DS XL no problem.

Why? While I am a collector, I have no real concern for resale value. Getting one of the limited editions would be nice, but it is by no means a requirement for me. And I seriously doubt that even the vanilla 3DS XL will be down to $150 any time soon. I don't already have a 3DS XL, I'm quite content to just get the blue one for now.

So I managed to grab one of the limited edition Red Pokemon 3DSXLs.  However, what I really want is a Zelda one.  These seem to go for around $200 or so on Ebay so it seem like an even trade.  So on the off chance, if anybody has a Zelda 3DSXL and wants the Pokemon one, I'd love to trade for it since it's  christmas present for my brother.
