Hey CAGS,

I’ve got some news I’m both excited and sad to share with you at the same time. I’ll be leaving the Digital Video Games team in Mid-March to join the marketing team for Amazon.com’s Loyalty and Rewards program, Amazon Coins. My boss and I have talked extensively about how to maintain and continue our presence here and across the other communities we’ve created in the past couple of years. To that end I’d like to introduce you to Josh, who take over monitoring, updating, and responding to this thread. Josh will be ramping up over the next couple of weeks, he  will be posting shortly to introduce himself.

Now that the “what’s going on” part of the message is out of the way I want to tell you all how much I love CAG and the posters here. This was the first community I joined when I started this job (anyone still remember that first thread?) and all of you have had a huge hand in shaping how we think about and execute Community Development and Management here at Amazon, which has in turn shaped my career these last two and a half years.

I started to write out a section calling out the regular posters and realized the list would be both overly long and incomplete at the same time. Instead I’d like to thank you all again, you all have my deep and sincere gratitude. I’ll still be around and my gaming accounts aren’t going anywhere so feel free to hit me up anytime you want to chat. I’ll probably still hang out in the thread too :).

The Indie Store has launched!
Amazon.com is launching a storefront dedicated to supporting and promoting PC/Mac/Web-based Indie Games. Our Digital Video Games team is a small group of passionate gamers and we’re all really excited to help Indie developers reach more customers quickly by providing a quick and simple process for bringing their games to market. Additionally we’ll be supporting the Indie Store with a ton of promotions, both at and after launch. Many of these promotions are designed to give the developer the opportunity to maximize their revenue. For example, Amazon is forfeiting all royalties from bundle sales and passing them along directly to the developer, we’ve also created an “Indie Spotlight” program to help customers learn more about the games and developers they love. We view the Indie developers as some of the most creative in the industry and we want to help them continue to create new and innovative experience for customers.

Also - I saw the discussion a few pages back about Arkham Origins. I bought it a few months ago, finished it quickly. I loved AA / AC, I loved this too, but it really was more of the same. As I've seen others comment, the story was stronger than AC, but the mechanics were largely unchanged. So I'd recommend a buy, but don't go into it expecting an evolutionary step from AC.

anyone know if Amazon will give steam keys for Doctor Who: The Adventure Games? it was in a bundle forever ago, with a bunch of other adventure/casual games.

I'm asking since groupees has it for .50 cents at the moment and will be giving out steam keys once they become available, I don't really want to buy it from them if Amazon is going to give us steam keys.

I finished installing and played for about an hour, liking it a lot so far. I only did the first mission from the base but it seems like sniping can be a viable tactic.

I'm still not sure how grouping works, but my character name is Gharad Zhax if that helps find me.

I also went ahead and set up a Steam group. If no one uses it, then oh well. Drabelincoln is probably right, but most of the friends I gamed with in college are too busy these days so I gotta look for other players were I can find them.

It's invite only for now - I don't have a lot of experience with this kind of thing and I'm a little nervous that it might get spammed by people trying to sell ingame stuff. If that's too paranoid let me know and I'll open it up.

People should know that Marlow Briggs has extreme screen tearing issues that don't go away via all of the usual methods, I've found no way to get rid of it. Best I can do is disable vsync and it minimizes the tearing to a certain extent. I regret buying the game. I paid around $3... if you can look past the tearing and the game looks good to you I'd say it's probably worth $2.50 after the credit. That tearing is somewhat of a deal breaker for me.

I just can't take your criticisms seriously anymore. DID YOU PLAY AND/OR ENJOY THE fuckING GAME!? :wall:

Anyway, I'm in for Marlow at that price, but what's up with the BF4 duplicates on the list? And Premium standalone not available as part of it?

 
Can CAG look into their crystal ball and tell whether Mortal Kombat Komplete will be appearing in the EC for cheaper than it is on GMG now? Many are complaining that the online play is broken but I still want it, cheaply. My own prediction would be that it'll show up for $9.99 and be an irrelevant difference that will eat your EC coupon. Which may be ok depending on how many all-time low priced deals are included in the EC, I only have 2 coupons...

Amazon probably won't. I've never heard of Amazon giving steam keys for a game, if the game was purchased DRM-free (or whatever), unless I'm missing something.

No one knows. If you want it now, get it from GMG... also you only have two coupons.

I said it was probably worth the price if you look past the tearing, that was based on me playing the game. I don't write reviews so I wasn't talking about how it plays, I was warning people about an issue I have with the game. If you don't care about that stuff then cool for you. :whistle2:x

To those who got instant video credit from a PS4 or game purchase:

Does the instant video credit work on any old rental or only specific titles? I have $7 of instant video credit but I'm scared I'll still get charged because you cannot see what forms of payment will be applied before you buy. One click ordering and all.

Runs on the My Ego page.

Copy the script, open the JavaScript console (Ctrl+Shift+K in Firefox, Ctrl+Shift+I in Chrome), paste the script, and press enter.

It should (slowly) enter all the codes. If the number is increasing, the script is working.

So you know that I put emphasis due to the poster having only two coupons... thus signaling to others that they might not be in the same situation, and might consider a different option. ...kind of how some folks are considering using an EC coupon for SId Meyer's Air Patrol pack... at a savings of $0.30 over picking it up at GMG right now. when they don't have a large pile of EC? or perhaps they bought Pizza Dude for $0.30 to attain that $0.30 cent savings?

Actually I have no opinion on it other than, that guys looks ~creepy~

If you bought 10 copies of Pizza Dude, as some CAGs reported doing so, for $0.30 each to obtain an EC coupon... it makes very little sense to blow that EC for a $0.30 "savings" or less.

Agreed. It's a net loss.

But the bigger loss would be to not play Pizza Dude. Creepy or not, you are aware the game has over ten pizza ingredients, right?

Hi Tony.  I was wondering, would you be able to get keys for Disciples Reincarnation? I know Amazon carries Disciples 3 Gold, however,  Reincarnation is the superior version to Gold as it is the Gold version along with a vastly improved gameplay experience that makes Gold and the stand alone Disciples 3 games obsolete. For reference purposes, the version that GamersGate carries is the one to which I'm referring: Disciples Reincarnation .  Thanks. :)

P.S. An added bonus for Amazon if you stock these keys: it's a Steamworks game that has never actually been sold on Steam.

I'm happy with the "$0.30 savings", especially since I still have some Christmas gift card credit left, and unintentionally have a "ton" of ec credits. *sigh*

Thanks for the reply, but it did not work for me. It was the $5 credit I got from purchasing a PS4.

I rented something but it charged my credit card. The $7 in credits are still there.
