Red Dead Redemption Game of The Year Edition $39.99

Ps3
Xbox 360

This will include a lot of DLC... yes, I know most of DLC´s are really cheap now. But there´s probably gamers (like me) that prefer the content on disc.

Official R* announcement and ´what´s included?´ here

"In the off-chance that such a gaming feast hasn't sated your appetite, the Red Dead Redemption: Game of the Year Edition also includes a brand-new hardcore single-player mode".
You will like the first time you enter the online world but it got old pretty fast, it was at it's finest when you jumped into an online world and everybody was shooting at each other but if you can't find a packed chaotic server then it just seems stale
I was the complete opposite. Most times I would set up a game just to go exploring the furthest reaches of the game world, only to have people literally come from all the way across the damn map JUST to shoot me dead.

What was funniest was then if you switched to deathmatch they would ragequit if you killed them a bunch while you barely got killed.

Same thing happens to me frequently in GTA free mode.

Anytime after the first handful that I played free roam in RDR, I learned to run to the big fort with the cannons on the walls whenever someone else joined. If they wanted to try and take me down I wasn't going to go down without a fight(or without blowing em up;)).

I would be all over this except I bought the DLC bundle when it went on sale and now I'm hoping for a price drop on the vanilla version. I'm kinda bummed I won't get the hardcore single player mode, but I was never going to play it anyways, so I don't care too much.
 Gamespot. That's like saying you have thousands of posts on GameFaqs. They're both loaded to the gills with trolls and people who think the ONLY game in existence is COD. But to each their own. Personally, I loved the primary game but the online game world was pretty lifeless in free roam.:whistle2:#

Glad to see you've clearly never been on GameSpot. But at least the emoticons are the same, so it's easier for helping me learn CAG.

I'm excited for this, but I have a big backlog of games which is why I haven't picked this up yet anyways. I'll definitely wait until the holiday season and try to nab it for a cheaper price :)

Sidenote, thought gamespot and gamefaqs were the same forums?
Anyone who actually gave this GOTY should be fired.
Agreed. It should be Game of This Generation. :)

If anyone hasn't bought this game yet, buy it. I own the original and all the DLC and I plan to buy this version just so I can have everything on the disc. Undead Nightmares is also a perfect game for Halloween.
Nope, search me up on Google, type in Blabadon. I'm on GameSpot and have 4,700+ posts there. I genuinely think it's a bad game, I remember being so disappointed playing the game after buying it for $30 on Black Friday.
The post as you wrote it was trolling. If you don't explain your opinion in a decent amount of detail, it's useless. Clearly most people here love the game for its excellent storyline, open-world setting, vast amount of content, and the bonus multiplayer stuff. Before you go spouting a crazy minority opinion, at least make sure you back it up.
It actually does. The disc release (that had both Lost & The Damned + Ballad of Gay Tony) had a completely new radio channel w/ new tunes, new DJ, etc.

The DLC versions did not include this.
GTA 4 Complete is 2 discs. They are just like you bought GTA 4 and Episodes separate. They have there own discs.

Why do I know, I bought original GTA 4 at release, then sold. Then bough episodes 1 week before amazon sold complete for $21. I bought complete and sold episodes.

Bed

Is it bad that I already own Red Dead, the disc for Undead Nightmare, and have bought all the other add-ons, but yet I still want to get the GOTY edition??

EDIT: If it gets cheaper, I can see myself getting it anyways...

no not bad at all

*cough*sucker*cough*

Oh, I definately want this.

I'm getting a PS3 soon (along with a new HD TV), and this game has been on my wish list for one of the first games to get for that system.

If I've waited this long, I might as well wait to just get the GOTY edition. And hot damn! It releases a few days before my wedding anniversary. This could double as an anniversary gift for my husband--he loves western movies, he'd probably enjoy this game too.

I will be monitoring this version price. I actually passed on this game entirely because of all the DLC, now the GOTY version is essentially what I wanted with all that stuff included.

Thanks for this, I was gonna post a reply to NuclearPorkchop asking this; but because of my ability to read previous posts before just immediately posting, I saw this and my further inquires were answered!

I already have the DLC from one of those sales, so I'm hoping this will make the price of the original drop so I can buy that.
Exactly!
hmm i have the original for PS3, i kept waiting for a GOTY to get it for 360, but ive noticed a disturbing trend:

Most 360 GOTY edtions seem to have all the DLC as a lame code and NOT on a disc as they should be. Does anyone know if this release will be done right and have the DLC on the disk or a 2nd disk? Ala Fallout 3 GOTY? If not i may just pass on it even though ive been wanting to play undead nightmare for a long time. maybe i'll just get undead nightmare for the ps3 when it drops cheap. Regardless, 50 bucks is too high, im sure this will be on sale very quickly. Hopefully there will be some more info on what this hardcore mode is soon
I'd get the PS3 version, not only for the fact that it's on the disc, but that the Gold Edition of RE5 is the only one that's Move-compatible.

I think R* will do what they did with GTAIV complete (like everyone EXPECTED them to do). I've been holding out for this version since the leaked guide I noticed back in January, I just wish the price wasn't so fucking awful, but it's good to see I'll be getting something exclusive for my buck anyhow (and it NOT being pre-order DLC). That being said, don't expect an LA Noire GotY or anything.

This game, while great, is also incredibly overrated IMO, so I fear that the price won't drop for a while. (Look @ the vanilla version, ffs.) I do certainly agree with IATCG about there being a lack of solid Western games. I have Gun for the Xbox 180 and I LOVED it, despite the mediocre reviews. This game's premise (not its engine) was a breath of fresh air to me.

That's what I'm hoping for. I have Undead Nightmare and now I just want the original to drop to a nice low tasty price. Hoping that cheap used copies will be thick on the ground.
