Amazon Super Hero Blu-ray Collection post Goldbox drop

What a worthwhile thread. Yeah the drop sucks, but it was $3; I doubt anyone who bought it yesterday will be really upset over 3 dollars.

And have you even seen either of the Blu-Ray transfers for Die Hard? I looked up comparison screens myself and it is leagues better than the DVD. And lol at "far superior." Sure, the inclusion of some curses would've been nice (how many were there, like 7?), but it doesn't greatly affect the film either way.

Yeah, I'm kinda with lolwut? on this one. The $3 price drop isn't a huge deal - they still got 7 Blu movies for $80. As far as the Die Hard Collection - I bought it. The quality IS better than DVD, and although I was originally disappointed about the PG-13 version being included, I quickly got over it when I found out that it's mostly distracting swearing that's making the Unrated version Unrated. We'll see how it goes when I get the package.

Actually, for anyone who has seen the "Unrated" version of Live Free or Die Hard the swearing was inserted in as it was filmed for a PG-13. As a result the lips do not always match what is being said. There are a few other things added into the unrated that add nothing at all but 99% of it is swearing that causes lipsync problems.

Yeah......

I saw that the other day. I actually did order the DOTD and went to cancel it, only to see it was already in "we're preparing your order for shipment" mode, so I couldn't. 3 bucks isn't much, but it's the principle of the thing.

King of surprised it was put into that mode so fast though, as I ordered it at the tail end of the day. The last Blu-Ray set I ordered and received took over a week to get into the shipping preparation mode.

There is no "unrated" version of DH4 on blu ray. It's only the PG13 version. This fact alone is what is preventing me from buying all of the Die Hard movies on BR. Pisses me off. I'm sure they will release it one day and make a quadrilogy out of the set.

i agree.

btw this thread was kinda just to laugh at everyone that thinks the DOTD amazon pulls are worth anything. there is always a catch. always.

some more on die hard:

What the unrated version includes:

Many more f-words and MF-ers.
- Extra dialogue between McClane and his captain, Clevino.
- Longer opening intro scene to Matt Long typing to the warlock,
listening to rock music.
- Extra banter when McClane and Matt first meet.
- More intro shots at the FBI command center.
- Shot of the National Transportation Center losing control of their
traffic grid.
- More shots of false anthrax alarm evacuation.
- Thomas Gabriel's hodgepodge of video of Nixon/Bush/Clinton speaking is
longer.
- Blood spurts!!! More gore, though not significantly more.
- More McClane-isms. When John is driving the police car in the tunnel
towards the helicopter, Rand shoots the engine, which lights on fire.
McClane quips, "Well the car's on fire, that can't be good."
- When Matt runs to his side after McClane destroys the helicopter,
McClane adds, "100,000 people are killed every year by cars. What's
another 4?"
- Quick shot of dead guards in power plant.
- When Mai dies in the elevator explosion, McClane screams a profanity
laced tirade at her.
- McClane flying (and landing!) helicopter scene much longer.
- The guy getting crushed in the giant blades scene doesn't have much
more blood.
- Yippee-kay-yay mf-er is said in full!
