amazon warehouse deals, are the copies good?

Like new usually means it will be opened, but in mint condition. Sometimes it is even sealed. Very rare they send damaged games.
it says for the game i want, cleaning and repair was required. any experience with that?
Usually, it's a default statement they put for all games sold by warehouse deals, and they use the same general statement for every game they sell.

It doesn't mean it was actually cleaned and repaired, as I believe the phrasing is "cleaning and repair was done as required". I.e., if the game needed to be cleaned and repaired, it was. Otherwise, it was already mint. They are usually immaculate

I've ordered many times from the Amazon Warehouse, and the condition of their "like new" games is fantastic.

The worst game I've gotten from the in "like new" condition had a misprint on the game manual (cover was a big blob of ink) but the game case and disc were mint condition. I'll take a $70 game for $15 if the only problem is a misprint on the instruction manual.

I've only bought two games (Singularity and MLB 10 The Show). The only problem I had with the copies were a sticker on the case. Wasn't difficult to get off, but one of the games had stickiness left on it.

Seriously, that is the ONLY problem I found with those two games. Both were "Like New".

Cleaning and repair for AWD means they resurface nearly every disc to remove any scratches. They also replace the cases sometimes.

Try re-sticking the sticker on the part of the case with the stickiness and then quickly peeling it back off again or use a piece of packing tape rolled up and do the same to get the stickiness off. It's a much better method than using Goo Gone, which can sometimes leave a greasy residue on the case if you use too much.

Lighter fluid also works to remove stickiness from game cases and the fumes/smell usually evaporates to where you can't even tell it was used after a couple days versus the orange-y smelling Goo Gone.

Hopefully they don't do that to PS3 games, since once that protective layer that makes them somewhat scratch resistant is gone the Blu-Rays are worse than CD's for taking on new scratches then. Even going to blow off a piece of lint/dust from a resurfaced PS3 disc may cause a new scratch once that's gone.:whistle2:#
