Not surprised. It's funny how people still think they will be able to walk in and get a Wii. The PS3 is almost a none factor, people will throw viles of Small Pox at people getting PS3s because that's less rare to find. Where do you think everyone will turn next for the newest game system?

Yeah, I saw this and it made me SOOOO glad I nailed down a second round preorder at TRU.

Everyone expected the PS3 madness. But that's almost a niche thing, as everyone knows with such a small number they have almost no chance of getting one. But I think people are going to be shocked at the chaos that is Elmo-scale Wii hunting between now and Christmas.

Soccer moms with switchblades, I'm telling you.

If you look at history most people thought 360's would be fairly accessable... that Ds's would be super easy and that PSP's would be sold out..

The opposite of the happened and DS's where going for 30-50 above retail on ebay 2 years ago. The same thing will happen withthe wii and I think most people will be shocked.

Bah, shouldn't use Amazon as a good source. Everyone and their mother signed up for a notification email even if they did secure a pre-order at EB, GS, or TRU. It doesn't hurt to be notified.

I think because people are getting so worried, they feel online is their only hope with the Wii, and if they don't get it online, they won't get one at all. I predict tons of B & M will have units sitting on their shelves.

I dont see there being a problem getting a Wii on launch day from a B&M store. I'm sure there will be enough for everyone to get one before Xmas.

I still think I'll be able to walk in and get a Wii. If not on launch day then by the end of the year. I don't see the Wii launch being the complete debacle the 360 launch was or the PS3 is soon to be. It was March before I finally found a 360. The Wii isn't going to be nearly as hard to find, especially if those production numbers I read about last month were correct.

After work Sunday, I'm thinking about heading up to Meijer and seeing what they've got.

I agree. I did the same. Signed up for the notification just for the heck of it. What sucks is that Amazon opened up preorders without notifying anyone and then closed preorders down before they could send out a single e-mail. What's the point of having customers sign up for e-mail notification if you don't plan on notifying them. Quite retarded if you ask me.
