Damn this CD is good. After almost 9 months to reflect on it I can say IMO it's easily Green Day's best CD (I never thought anything could top Dookie or Kerplunk). It's probably the reason Blink 182 broke up knowing it couldn't be topped.

I agree, I was listening to it yesterday. I still am not a fan of the title track, but the rest of the album is amazing.

I never bought it because i didn't like the song American Idiot. Boulevard of Broken Dreams wasn't half bad though, maybe i'll check it out if its cheap.

American Idiot is worthless cd, made for shit fed mtv junkie punks who have no concept of good music. Green Day keeps falling deeper and deeper in the shit filled void where bands such as blink 182 and pennywise take baths in their pools of corporate fat cash......ramble ramble ramble, oi oi oi, up teh punks, etc etc etc, hate hate hate, say no more.

I don't know which song it was, but I saw the video on MTV...the band riding in a car or something. The song was the absolute biggest ripoff of "The Passenger" by Iggy Pop and David Bowie I have ever heard, it was amazing. I'm surprised they aren't getting the shit sued out of them by Pop and Bowie like The Verve did for using that sample by the Rolling Stones.

No, it's far from worthless, and far from corporate.

I've silently read your posts for months on various subjects, taking note of what a fool you tend to be. It's the internet, so it's alright.

But there's something absurd about a person infatuated with ska-punk, whose name is that of *the* moneymaking band of the 1990's, calling other groups or people "posers" (or something akin to that), that is just plain idiotic.

Go covet how underground you are by dry humping your Mephiskapheles albums, and once you're done, then we'll talk.

myke.
...and I'm not just saying that b/c American Idiot is a fantastic album.

Obviously your just another moron who doesnt know when to just be silent.
1. Can I like the ideas of Nirvana (i.e. if your good in life youll reach a some sort of state of perfection when you die) without people snickering and whiping their noses on their metallica shirts going, tee hee you like Nirvana right...idiot.
2. Im clearing not underground, never proclaimed to be, dont put words in my mouth you dick swab,
3. If you read the end of my rant with the etcs and rambles I literally bash my own post there by deflating and relevance to it, most people around here know Im not trying to piss people off hence I make fun of my own arguments so people dont do it on their own...its called stealing the thunder.
Case Closed, be a big boy and dont put any foolish posts up I dont really want to have a little flame warm.

I've really enjoyed it also. I'm not a mega fan of theirs, but I do like their music.

I didn't realize that Blink 182 broke up. That sucks.

Its an indefinite hiatus (thank the lord), basically they broke up but you can never be too careful.

Please go listen to "Handbook for the Sellout" by Five Iron Frenzy. It fits the way you're thinking perfectly.
I bought the album when it was released, and I think I've listened to it once. Radio killed it.
That's why I don't listen to the radio.

If you like their CD you should try to see one of their shows on the American Idiot tour. All I have to say is wow about them live. I am going to see them a second time in a few months.

I saw them once back in 1994 before (or just after) Dookie was released. There were about 200 people there and it was great. I've been a fan ever since (although the last 5 years or so I haven't paid much attention).

Wow read my above posts before you snap to judgement...and listen to take warning by operation ivy.

Maybe I'll pick this album up. I dont listen to radio anymore so I am not oversaturated with Green Day.

I remembered that Green Day blew everyone away at the Grammys. Its a testament to what a great rock-n-roll band they truely are.

Oh, I didn't realize that your poor grammar and incoherent blathering were supposed to indicate *sarcasm*; now I understand, please accept my apologies.

Apologizes accepted, congrats on making yourself look superior on an online message board, you truely are an amazing person, ug, I dont want to argue, I like this site too much.

I agree that it is a great album. It's probably because I had low expectations before picking up the album. I normally don't like it when bands stop for a while and decide to try and make a big comeback (Micheal Jordan, Micheal Jackson, etc..). Plus, I had heard the "American Idiot" song and didn't really like it. I bought it when it was released because I used to be a pretty big green day fan and am still able to pick it up and listen to it. There are so many great songs which is rare for albums these days. Normally albums have about 3-4 good songs.

Boulevard of Broken Dreams got really annoying after I realized they tried to make it a single and played it non-stop. Gar!

Otherwise, I liked the older cd's better.

That's almost my scenario; I listen to a lot of AM radio (Air America), so I'm completely out of the loop when it comes to pop culture. I'd likely be sick of this album by now if I weren't.

myke.
Because you don't have XM? :D
I'm picking up my new (totally pimped out) MDX this weekend and it comes standard. I can't wait. :D
