I like to hedge myself by saying probably, and I'm glad did because I got schooled in the illegality.

However, everybody defines their ethics differently. I still think it's wrong because it's not the intended use; but, at the same time, I think Nintendo is ethically in the wrong for gating content behind often hard to find toys.

Regardless, I will still do it, because I have no desire to hunt/overpay for OoT link without a reprint.

Well okay. Thanks for the info everyone!

At least release the dlc on the eshop. Or make every amiibo of X style unlock it. I would rarely buy it but some of them are cool. And it is only really a problem for these rare ones.
 
Was anyone able to find the Mario cereal with the amiibo box? I live in a somewhat large city with like 9 grocery stores within 15 minutes of my house and I haven't seen one box...

 
Desperately looking for a reasonable price on Rosalina smash and Cloud P2 and Corrin P2 (a stretch... I know). Posted in the amiibo trading thread. If anybody is in the Christmas spirit, let me know.

I've been keeping an eye out to get a box for my son, but nothing yet. I haven't been going out of my way or anything, but just taking a quick look when I'm at the store.

It's nuts man. Half a dozen stores around me and no one had any clue what I was talking about when I asked if they had any. None showing on brickseek either. GG Nintendo!

well according to brickseek theres not a single store in north carolina that has the cereal... Looks like $30 on ebay is the only option for me then.

 
I just discovered the kellogs website has a cereal finder :p It just confirms that nowhere within 75 miles of me has any but maybe it'll be useful for you guys.

I'm going to take the SKU to a few local stores and ask the manager to order some, if possible. I won't pay $30 for a box of cereal but I'll ask a store to order it for $4

 
In typical Nintendo fashion I bet the cereal will be pretty easy to find in a couple months, it just has poor distribution at launch ;)

 
If anyone finds that cereal and can grab an extra I’ll gladly pay a $10 bounty for it.

No stores in my area got any at all. Absurd given the size of the city.

I tried every person I know's zip code and couldn't find any.

I caved and bought a box on eBay for my son to eat Christmas morning. :shock:

He's 6, he'll always remember waking up to a Mario Odyssey Switch that he's been begging for and a box of Mario Cereal on the table this Christmas. I won't miss the cash I put down for it. :whistle2:

 
I'm tempted to go to Frank and Sons (ie:  scalper central in LA) to see if there are actually boxes of cereal all over.

I know right? Where do I sign up? LOL

I told my son about the cereal and he said to buy it when I see it someplace, but he knows how "N" works better than most. So he's not holding his breath. For $10, I may have grabbed one, but at $30........No way in hell, as I most definitely would miss that amount.

I would assume they had a hand in it, due to the Amiibo support included with each box. I would also assume that is the reason for a grand lack of supply. Rest assured, if there's a problem in this equation, it's on the "N" side of things. LOL

Thanks for the heads up, as I was just there 10 minutes ago and completely forgot to check. But it shows none in town anyway, but maybe some in the next few days, I'll keep an eye out.

Well, at least you got a box. Who knows, in a month these might be gone and the price climbs even higher. LOL

 
I'm going to grab another box to eat before Christmas. I gotta know if it's edible or if I need to cook some eggs and bacon.
 
I believe that brickseek SKU is for a box of 10 (look at the item title),, so each store has 10x the number listed on brickseek. This also probably means the brickseek number will be unreliable as they sell them.
 
Maybe Walmart is trying to ride the amiibo craze wave... now the only way to get those cereal amiibo are to buy a bundle of 10 boxes.

Don't know if this was posted earlier in the thread and I just didn't see it, but TRU is having a B1G1 free sale on "select" Amiibo; really that seems to mean anything besides the 3 packs and the Guardian. It definitely *does* include the other BotW and presumably the Odyssey singles. Their site has all the Champions except Revali for some reason, just put in an order for them and archer Link myself.

Sadly their online stock doesn't reflect clearance prices but they do have Ness, Lucas, Palutena, and Jigglypuff up on there for anyone needing them.

I know I've hit a low point in my life when I'm racing to Walmart to buy a box of cereal because it has a picture of Mario on it.

I stopped by TRU this morning and the clearance ones are also B1G1, the store I went to was sold out of the odyssey ones.

 
My local Walmart shows 10 in stock for the cereal...but my wife has the car all day.  I hope she can make it over there for a few boxes!

EDIT:  She did go to Walmart.  They didn't have it on the shelf yet.  She bought a few boxes when they brought it out to her!

Unfortunately sold out at all the stores I went to today despite brickseek showing in stock. No one seemed to have any idea what I was talking about when I asked custone4 service but it is Wal-Mart so that's not a shock.
 
Yeah, I just came from Walmart & Smith's, and nothing at either. Target may have been a better bet, but I'm not making any special trips for this shit. I'm just looking at the places I actually go to shop, and Target wasn't on the run for today.

 
BS said my local Walmart had 10 went to look and nothing. Even asked and they had no clue what I was talking about. Like others said would pick it up if it was around me but not going searching for this.
