Anchorman was the most overrated movie of last year.

You know what was a funny-ass movie last year? Eurotrip. I laughed out loud a shit-load of times watching that movie. And the year before last, Super Troopers was a funny-ass movie.

I'd have to disagree. I thought anchorman was hilarious especially during certain parts and just enjoyable to watch. Maybe it's because I'm a fan of Will Ferrell, but I liked it. It seems to get overshadowed by Napoleon Dynamite mostly, so I'm not sure why it's over-rated. I still have to see Napoleon Dynamite and Dodgeball, though.

Likewise. I have to see if ND is really as funny as everyone says.

It has its funny moments, but you'll probably be thinking "This is the dumbest fucking movie I've ever seen."

The first time I saw NP, I thought it was pretty dumb but still funny. I've watched it about 8 times since then and it gets funnier EVERY time. I love it.
how can anyone not think the fight scene in anchorman is hilarious?!?!
The best part is when the retarded guy is just sitting there with a grenade in his hand screaming. :D

Same same. Everybody hypes it up, so I'll be disappointed if I know every single one-liner. :whistle2:\

Abchorman was funny nut Will Ferrel wasn't funny in it. That retarded guy was hilarious, as well as the battle scene.

A movie that was not overhyped but was not funny is
harold and kurmar go to white castle. the only good part of that movies is when some Asian girls show there chest for 2 milaseconds.

No, Harold and Kumar was a very funny movie.

Haven't seen the movie yet, but my dvd player has both a pause and a zoom, so I guess I am set.

Edit: I also haven't seen Dodgeball yet (although I own two copies -- one from BB for the headband, one from Costco for the T-shirt. Am I an easy mark or what?), but Rip Torn can do very little wrong (and I'm pretty sure Freddy Got Fingered got it all out of his system).

I watched Harold and Kumar this morning. It had its moments, and was a lot more coherent than I thought it would be. The flashing scene wasn't bad, I liked the girl on the left. Battleshits was the worst scene ever but I was laughing.. they're already writing two sequels, the next one is called "Harold and Kumar go to Amsterdam" (for obvious reasons).

are you serious???? H and K in Amsterdam would rule!!!

Anchorman-Knights of Columbus, that movie hurt! Not even close to Elf. Hey, everybody makes a bomb at some point.
Dodgeball-Decent for a laugh, 1 time only at a matinee. Not much more.
Napoleon Dynamite-Funniest movie this year. Not a typical comedy by studio standards which explains why so many sheep don't think it's funny.
Hey, it's all just IMO.
See The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and thank me later-unless you thought Anchorman and Dodgeball were gutbusters.

Posted on July 26th, so.. who knows what the status is.

We watched like the first 30 minutes of it tonight, hoping it might get better... it didn't. I agree. Totally overrated. So then we watched Open Water. Ok, so Anchorman wasn't the worst movie we watched tonight. They both sucked majorly, but at least they were just rentals from NetFlix.

On another note, I Robot received mediocre to bad reviews and we all loved it. Great story and special effects. We're going to buy that one when it goes on sale next time. We missed it at launch because of the bad reviews.

So good movies get bad reviews and bad movies get good reviews???
