Animal Farm - The SOTM
Boris - Akuma no Uta (album)

Goin' to see these fellas in July.
fucker. Their show is 21+ one month before I turn 21. Oh well, got to see them a year or two ago. You're in for a hell of a show.

Earth - The Bees Made Honey From The Lions Skull (album)

Earth doing post-rock. Odd, but good.

I enjoyed that Earth album and was wondering if I should grab Hex.

Hate you all.

Also, everything else I've heard from Earth is pure drone/doom, so expect it to sound nothing like Bees Made Honey. Gotta remember that they're the band that most heavily influenced Sunn O))), and where the sound started.

That's rough. I'm glad that they put on a good show though.

Damn, never knew that. I'll be sure to check it out then!

Jay-Z - American Gangster
-I really, really enjoy this album. Even after hearing it dozens of times, something about it just draws me in. Doesn't hurt that the remixes I have from Random, K-Murdock and a few others are sick. NiGHTS theme + Jiggaman = money.

Jeff Buckley - Grace

Inner City - Big Fun

dallow, I think you would really enjoy this. It's techno/house from the early 90's, but it is just completely full of heart and soul. Check it out if you get a chance, the sound is simply amazing.

EDIT: Oh yeah, half of the duo is Kevin Saunderson, one of the legendary Belleville three which also included Derrick May and Juan Atkins. This is truly essential stuff.

v/a - Songs of Solitude

Personal compilation made up of solemn French, 60s, jazz, and classical pieces/tunes.

It's quite exquisite.

Hmm, thanks! I will look into it!

Pseudo Intellectuals - Resourceful Illery (album)

sweet, nice to see this has leaked. Can't wait to pick this one up. Couple of people behind Pseudo Slang (one of the greatest unknown hip hop groups out there) behind this album

Girl Talk - Feed the Animals

Very, very disappointing. I have not heard Night Ripper, but I've read nothing but laudatory things about it. Was very excited to hear this, but I can't get behind it. It's a combination of being both too much and not enough at the same time. He seems to just throw samples together without any specific context, comparison, or purpose, except to put two famous songs together. Some of the samples just clash, and not in interesting ways, but in ways that just seem sloppy. On the other hand, when he does occasionally get something interesting going (I do enjoy the call-and-response between Hot Chip and the Cardigans on one of the tracks, for example), he switches gears so quickly that the listener can barely enjoy it. I would say it's worth hearing, and I love the pay what you what format of the release, but I can't see myself listening to it more than once or twice.

Various Artists - The Cake Sale - Really good singer-songwriter stuff, the female singers especially provide great stuff. Nina Persson of The Cardigans and Lisa Hannigan's tracks are amazing.

Kashiwa Daisuke - Program Music 1 (album)

I recommend this to you lot that like music here. Pretty much everyone that takes the time to rec things, or gets rec'd things, this is your taste. Electronic infused post rock acoustic everything else. Weird, but nice.

Baby Charles - s/t (album)

I'm going to hate checking out my last.fm account when ever it decides to update the stats
Figures I'm last to find them.

I REALLY hope Boredoms do another massive summer show, like 77Boadrums last year. If they do 88Boadrums, it'd fall right before my birthday, and right when I'm in NY.
I didn't know you liked that kind of music; I'll recommend that sort of stuff to you in the future. Make sure to check out everything by World's End Girlfriend and 65daysofstatic.

Boredoms are in the middle of recording in Japan, and nearing completion of their next self produced record. Eye said they’ve been experimenting with aquatic drum sounds by putting water in drums and on drum heads. “Yoshimi got angry about some of the water,” he said. “We damaged some of her drums and the sounds we got were not that good. We will use a little of it, but it was sort of a mistake. I told her I am sorry.”This coming August 8th, in New York, Boredoms will be heading up a sequal to the 77 Drummer Boadrum concert that was held under the Brooklyn Bridge. This year, 8/8/08, there will be eighty-eight drummers. Numerology aligns expansion. Eye and Senju also have other projects. Eye recently released a remix album called "Re: Remix?" Senju is in two other bands called PARA and Urichipangoon.

I wish I could go.

I listen to pretty much everything, I'm just known to listen to crust and stuff like that.

Also, OH fuck YES I AM GOING TO THAT. Thanks a ton for posting that, I am DEFINITELY hitting that show. Motherfuckers better not make it 21+ two days before my birthday.
