Animal Farm - The SOTM
Genius. Speaking of outsider music, have you heard Scott Walker's The Drift? Might be right up your alley.
Gene - Olympian - Sounds like Morrissey backed by Oasis, nice stuff

WooHoo, glad you liked the Emma Pollack. Check out her earlier stuff with The Delgados if you haven't. Though their best albums are The Great Eastern and Hate, the most interesting thing is to hear their BBC Sessions set. They started as a Pixies rip-off band (a good rip-off), but out of nowhere became a very dark orch-pop act (one of the best, no less). On the BBC disc, it literally comes on a single track- huge, jarring 90 degree turn.

Asa-Chang & Junray - Jun Ray Song Chang (album)

Judging off the first track, this is very World's End Girlfriend-esque, which, therefore, makes it excellent.
I hope the rest of the album is similar.

EDIT: Well, the album diversified a lot, so it was really only that track that was WEG-esque, but it was still good.

Okkervil River - The Stand-Ins - Customarily great, though not as good as The Stage Names on first listen

The Pointed Sticks - Waiting for the Real Thing - The Canadian Undertones, basically. Perfect power-pop punk (alliteration unintentional).

Comet Gain - City Fallen Leaves

Comet Gain - Realistes

Comet Gain are such an amazing band. I would describe them as what early Superchunk would have sounded like had they been on Sarah records. Garage-punk-twee. Great songwriting and lots of diversity in their sound. Dallow and Mojimbo, you should check these albums out.

Ride - Nowhere

Boo Radleys - C'Mon Kids

Cardinal - Cardinal

Ride - Nowhere

Vivian Girls - Vivian Girls -With better songwriting, this could be great. As it is, it's a great sound hampered by mundane songs.

Acid House Kings - The Sound of Summer

Dr. Who Dat? - Beat Journey (album)
Habitat - s/t (EP)
Hermitude - Rare Sightings (EP)
Abstract Rude - Making More Tracks (album)
