I saw your recommendation, and listened to Swervedriver, strummers.

Great stuff.

Anything off of "The Decline Of British Sea Power" by -- not surprisingly -- British Sea Power.

I've been listening to this record over and over the past few days, for some reason. It really makes me want to see them again, even though I just saw them a few months ago.

I need to go find my copy of "Open Season", and then go buy their new one.

I'll look into that, fb, thanks!

Doomtree - Doomtree - Ended up being a pretty damn good album.
My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
That 1 Guy - The Moon is Disgusting

Glad you liked it. I really enjoy the lead singer, Adam Franklin's solo project, Toshack Highway, but it's very different. The self-titled first album is a really great ambient pop record, kind of like Kid A or some of Brian Eno's stuff. He's also got an album coming out with the bassist from Interpol later this year.

Mega City Four - Magic Bullets

Various Production - Versus (album)

outside of a few tracks, this isn't what I expected from them. Its not bad but most of these are not dubstep which kinda makes me sad. The song with Emma Pollack is pretty good though and the remixes of Sia and Sugerbabies are also really good.

Idem - Beat Journey (beat tape/album)

V/A - Modal Soul Classics (comp)
no matter how many times I've listened to Folklore, its a song that still gets to me. And I've got no idea what the fuck she is saying. Really need to dl some Clammbon

Moonshine - Happy Ending

feathers strategically placed over
my tarred and smoldering body.
and i see my face swollen with shame.
every hour the skin around my neck gets tighter.
and tighter.
one word to describe my thoughts couldn't be but four letters.
too young to know my heart
is beating backwards.
i need help.
i need to feel my brains
before they hit the floor.
i need hands to catch my body.
i don't want this anymore.
i can trust me

Andrew Bird - Armchair Apocrypha
Yea, apparently Temporary Residence has been shipping theirs early. I grabbed it from SoulSeek, as my copy hasn't arrived in the mail yet. I'm thinking of keeping all five volumes sealed, to go with my sealed copy of Board Up The House.

The Chrysler - Cold War Classic

Galaxie 500 - Today

Galaxie 500 - Peel Sessions

Secret Shine - After Years

For Against - Shade Side Sunny Side - As of this moment, the best album of 2008 I've heard so far. Amazing that a band that's been around since the early 80's could put out their best album this year.

Wake Up On Fire - Wake Up On Fire (album)

Seriously has to be one of my all time favorite albums. Just look at this set up:

justdave - percussion/voice
jo - voice
kevin - drum/voice
tim - guitar/voice
christine - cello/voice
chris control - guitar/voice
mis - bass/voice

fucking seven vocalists. Hardcore.
Okkervil River - The Stand-Ins - $$$ per usual
I loved it, but I thought it was a step down from both The Stage Names and Black Sheep Boy. What did you think?

Curve - Pubic Fruit

The Flaming Lips - Clouds Taste Metallic

Rollerskate Skinny - Horsedrawn Wishes - I cannot get enough of this album.

I can totally see that, though I am yet to hear Black Sheep Boy. It did seem like a nice change of pace, though, with some of those more uptempo tracks. But, personally, I am currently in love with Down the River of Golden Dreams. I'm not sure why, but I've been playing it a lot lately.

Radiohead - In Rainbows
Portishead - Dummy
The High Decibels - The High Decibels - Damn, this is some good stuff. FB, check it out.

Big M Bootie - Big M Bootie Volume 4 (EP) ---- the Wondeful World and Mercy remixes are worth the price of admission
Wookie - Run Away (single)
V/A - Bstrd Boots Volume 5 (EP) ------- the Greenwood Rhythm Coalition remixes of Honey are really good. Still can't get into Captain Planet's Honey remix (going too overboard on the vocoder) but his Cleva remix is still good.

Monosylabikk - Rocks (album)
