CAGiversary!
You may or may not know but I am quite the anime fan, especially of most gundam series's. I noticed that some of the OVAs are between 6 and 16 episodes a piece give or take. So I was looking for some good prices of these DVDs.

Mobile Suit Gundam 8th MS Team Volumes 1 to 4, completes the series and I also believe there is another dvd which is a movie.
Mobile Suit Gundam Stardust Memory Volumes 1 to 4, who can forget kou uraki and the full vernian gundam, the last episodes were the best when kou uses the dembronium armor.
Mobile Suit Gundam War In The Pocket Volumes 1 and 2, very short Gundam seires but had a terriffic story and great characters.

i figured you would respond admiral, yea im gonna check out bestprices.com, dam i love that gundam shit, do you know anything like it that isnt very shitty besides full metal panic

Have you seen Seed yet. Its possibly one of my favorite Gundams. That or 08th MS Team. It is quite a big series though. 50 eps, and I think 10 DVDs.

Dude, go watch some macross plus. That is way better than fmp. Although I found fmp to be more of a comedy...

Unless you want to go old school, go watch some robotech.

Wow, way to make myself look like a newb. Anyways, yea aggreed, Seed is amazing. How is Destiny though. I started to download it, but have yet to watch it. Is it a continuation of the original or is it an offshoot?

Yeah, if you haven't seen Macross Plus you're missing out. It's truly one of the great all time anime, and underrated. First, it's easily accessible to those who do't know a thing about anime or macross. Second, it's true to the spirit of macross themes for Macross fans. Thirdly, it's the artistic precursor to Cowboy Bebop and a true pioneer. It'll cost you some dough. I recently paid $40ish for the OVA's. But you'll literally watch it over and over again.

Its a continuation Im not sure how long after seed takes place but im guessing in between a year or a year and a half, new suits, new pilots, too bad you dont see kira till like episode 15 and the only ones with subtitles now are 1 through 7, man yzaks new suit is fucking hot and he lost his scar which is also cool.

oh as in see kira I mean see him piloting freedom, at least I think its freedom it looks a bit different like maybe a new paintjob or something

I've never bought from there. They are an advertiser on AnimeonDVD. I would assume iof they were wholly unreliable that they wouldn't be allowed to advertsie there due to complaints.

Damn, they have Macross Plus for $16. I wish I had known that earlier. I paid about $20 a piece. And had defective replacement problems from the store I bought it from.

I suggest Dai-Guard, from ADV films, (but wait til february to get it when they release the complete collection for 50$) the show is great just don't expect to try to take it too seriously, the show doesn't even take itself too seriously

8th ms team was my fave...i used 2 be a huge anime fan..but it was weird..i saw the ending theme song credits..thing..and after that i got hooked..song was cool..ne1 have it :whistle2:D! maybe they cud be a pal and send it 2 me..8th ms team ending theme or credits

I suggest you save up for th eLE Zeta Gundam boxset that drops in a couple weeks. Yet I did get all the MS 08th Team DVDs from deepdiscount for about $12 each. It's been a little while but I think they are still that price.

8th MS was awesome... It was Viet Nam with giant robots...

Anyone know when or if Gundam X is coming stateside?? I have a Fansub vhs and it's quite good.
oooh zeta gundam boxset ill look into getting that
If it was cheaper I'd grab it myself, Zeta may very well be my favorite of the UC series.

And another suggestion for Gundam DVD watching...MS Gundam F91. Just came out a week or so ago. It was directed by the same guy who did Char's Counterattack and was the first Gundam movie to be shown in US theaters on a very limited run I think.

I didn't like F91 at all, and I'm a huge fan of the UC series... The 08th MS team movie is simply a condensed version of a few episodes, very little original content. Its called 08th MS Team: Miller's Report.

I'd buy the Zeta boxset if I could, but prices for anime are insane. I have to live with my fansubbed TV rips.

FYI that Zeta Gundam box is in extremely limited production numbers so if you want one better jump on a pre-order now or risk not getting one. I've had mine pre-ordered for months.

There's also the Gundam Movie pack with all five Gundam movies, but that's already been discontinued less than a couple weeks after it's release. It has the Gundam Movie Trilogy, 08th Team: Miller's Report and Char's Counterattack. I got lucky to get one of these as well.

I'm also looking for 0080, 0083, 08th Team, and F91 for cheap, and there's probably only one way to do this: wait for a studio sale at Right Stuf. About twice a year they have a studio sale for each anime studio, where all DVDs from that studio are around 46% off retail price after discounts (including the Got Anime subscription discount). Right now 0080 and 0083 are $13.49 each, 08th Team is $17.98 each, adn F91 is $26.98 because it's new - total would be $199.78. After discounts from a studio sale, the total would be $107.88 - big difference.

Long story short, I'm waiting for a studio sale.

Jeremy

I would so pick up the Zeta LE if I had them money, but after buying Christmas gifts I'm simply tapped dry maybe I come across $120 some how.

I pre-ordered the Zeta box a few months back. I have been waiting for a releases since it was announced liked 3 years ago, and even longer than that for it to get licensed. Zeta and the original are my faves. As for Cheap prices, try Digital Eyes. The 0080 and 0083 discs are $10 and 08th MS $15. The Gundam Movie box (0079 Movies 1-3) is $30 or so. They are owned by the same company as DDD. They have a point system when you buy things. So far I have had $160 in credit from it. You can only use $40 at a time. I used one to get MillenniuM Season 1 box for a little over $1 and used one on my Zeta Pre-order. If what Bandai says is true, it will likely be hard to find after it's release. Now here is hoping the Zeta MSiA figures will still get US releases.

If you're looking for some of the older DVD's like 08th MS Team or 0083, see if your EB has them used. I picked up a couple for $7 or $8 each.
