Amazon tends to offer lower everyday prices on their anime, and often run sales on Funimation items routinely. Keep track on your favorites or check your daily deal's for a possible 5% off of some based off your history on Amazon. 

(Also, I'd also recommend to check out Amazon's top 100 deals in Anime Bluray/DVD as they tend to show what's popular, or what is on sale.)

Known by many for their bad customer service, they often make up for it with their lower prices on a lot of their items. This and they routinely run sales specifically for anime.

I don't get the love for Trigun. I kept trying to watch the series, restarted multiple times, but could never get into it. It didn't capture me or get my interest at all. 

 
Cause Vash is such a lovable and well done character,along with Wolfwood who is one of best support characters in a show. Now the show has it's flaws such as sub-par animation and they introduce way to many bad guys who have no development at all.

Every Digimon season is $30 on Amazon currently. And even better, you can buy a huge collection that includes all 4 seasons for $80. A better price overall if you don't own any of the sets yet.

It's also got something very, very important going for it: style. That is one of the most important things for a show to have lasting appeal and influence like Trigun has.

This is news to me as well. I remember their store in 2011 and they had some killer deals with Buy 1 Get 1 Free and huuuuuge discounts. Then they teamed with Rightstuf for a while after closing the shop. I'm glad this thread exists!

Another yay. I actually liked it despite the issues with the less-than-optimal cg and some weak episodes. Saw it streaming and picked up the LE here for the $24.19.

Oddly, people seemed initially to respond more to the also-available $24.49 regular edition...they must be assuming that without the prominent blu-ray bar on top that the LE box is only a DVD collection. To be fair until you click through it doesn't say LE.

You mean Appleseed I assume?

One comes in the hard cardboard packaging with two cases (Limited Edition), and the other one just one case that holds all the discs (Standard).

Thanks Squarehard. Like you surmised, I just assumed it was the dvd version. I'm glad I was able to cancel and order the LE instead, I'm a sucker for those.

Indeed, as above I had assumed that was why people were not ordering the LE as quickly.

Also, wanted to further clarify the different Eden of the East releases due to the one in the Lightning Deals tomorrow morning.

Eden of the East: The Complete Series (Blu-ray)

[Original release]

Eden of the East: Complete Series (Blu-ray/DVD Combo)

[This is the only release with the blu-ray and DVD, and it was discontinued shortly after its release]

Eden of the East: The Complete Series Anime Classic Edition (Blu-ray)

[Most recent release, but just a repackaging of the "Original release".  This will be the one on sale during Amazon's Lightning Deal tomorrow morning.]

Just to reiterate, there are 3 blu releases for the series, but the one that will be on sale tomorrow will be the most recent packaging of the Anime Classics version, which is just a repackaging of the original release 2-disc blu-ray set.

Well, here's hoping that I don't regret dropping $24 on Appleseed XIII  I'm guessing that they must have had more of the LE sets than they did the regular ones, since it was both cheaper and available for longer.

While we're talking about Funi's release policy, I wanted to mention a couple of things that were recently added on Amazon. I never wanted to make a separate post about these since they weren't actually discounted, but this is tangentially related enough for me.  They have entries for Attack on Titan part 1, Evangelion 3.33, Fairy Tail part  8, and Robotics;Notes part 1 (Be careful with this one, the LE/SE aren't labeled very well.  You'll need to check their descriptions).

I just thought people might be interested in pre-ordering them early so that they didn't miss any short-lived price drops between now and their release day.

 
Has Eva 2.0 bluray gone on sale yet or will it go on sale?

I feel like this never goes on sale except at its release.

There isn't even a Evangelion 2.0 Blu-ray release. Just 1.0, 1.11 (which just fixes the lighting problem in first set), and 2.22. With 3.33 coming in February.

Indeed. I was under the impression there was a DVD release, and it was the actual title, but that's just me confusing myself.

I guess I'm on anime overload atm, getting myself confused now.

I think the person posting was referring to 2.22 in any case, just minor confusion like me.

I had considered that too, but there were a couple of things that convinced me to buy the import set. The international release is for the film version, not the original 6 episodes. Now, the film version is those same 6 episodes put together with additional new footage and a new ending added (so there's actually more content to be had with the kickstarter version). The two are not the same thing, so buying one doesn't completely eliminate buying the other.

The other reason is, I have no idea what the actual price will be of the international version once it's finished, but I doubt that it will be easy to get it for the $25 price of the import version here.

 
Does anyone have any thoughts on the Attack on Titan graphic novel set or the Learning Japanese set? Those two stood out to me in Wave 3 but I was curious if anyone had recommendations for or against?
