 Anime Steals and Deals

**It is highly recommended you check the latest posts in this thread as they will often have the most up to date deals. I will attempt to reflect these sales in the OP, but always check the latest posts.**

Rightstuf

Rightstuf runs studio sales every week, sometimes even twice a week. These range from anime, manga, and even artbooks. Prices are decent, and Rightstuf has amazing customer service. I highly recommend them for that alone.

You can save an additional 10% off a majority of their items (Including preorders) by buying their Got Anime membership

Amazon

Amazon tends to offer lower everyday prices on their anime, and often run sales on Funimation items routinely. Keep track on your favorites or check your daily deal's for a possible 5% off of some based off your history on Amazon.

(Also, I'd also recommend to check out Amazon's top 100 deals in Anime Bluray/DVD as they tend to show what's popular, or what is on sale.)

DVDPlanet / Deep Discount

Known by many for their bad customer service, they often make up for it with their lower prices on a lot of their items. This and they routinely run sales specifically for anime.

I highly suggest when you order from them to only order in stock items, and not ones that are backordered. Save yourself the displeasure of having to deal with the headaches. And patience is a must with these sites.

Cheapassgamer

Maybe you will find something here on our own forums! We have a thread dedicated specifically to Anime and Manga for sale from fellow Cags.

Hey guys quick question when an anime releases does the discounted price on amazon or rightstuff usually go back up to MSRP or does the price generally stay the same?

Not sure about Amazon but discounted prices on Rightstuf usually go back up shortly after release and come back whenever a studio sale starts. They usually stay at some discount though and never full MSRP.

Thanks for the quick response! Was thinking of just waiting for D-Frag to release and then get it but amazon has it for like $40 so I pre-ordered it just to be safe.

Or you could have pre ordered it from sears like I did and got it for $34.xx by texting "thanks" to 73277 to receive a $10 off coupon code.

Anyone know what the deal with the Stardust Crusaders dub was? I remember they dubbed the first three episodes a year ago though I haven't seen anything mentioned about it or licensing since then.

^ I think it was a test to see if the states was ready for a Jojo dub or not. I believe it was a limited thing that Crunchyroll funded to show at a convention. Personally, I thought it was pretty damn good for what it was.

Gundam: The Origin Collector's Edition shipped today. Can't wait to get this. I'm just hoping that, for a $100 item, Rightstuf packed it well.
I just want them to hurry up and announce the non-CE release. I'll begrudgingly buy the normal Blu-ray, but the CE is just too much for me. I'm also quite tempted to get the Hardcover manga volumes of the Origin, as it seems that the OVAs are only certain parts of it--not the whole thing.

The hardcover volumes are definitely worth buying. Do wait for a Vertical sale though.

Oh yeah, I highly recommend the hardcover Gundam Origin volumes. I wasn't initially interested in them, but last year a local bookstore had the first 4 volumes with each at 50% off the cover price. So now I've been hooked collecting them.

As for a non-CE release of Origin on blu-ray, I'm shocked that hasn't been announced yet. I don't typically go for CE releases of anime, but the retro laserdisc-style box made this an instant-preorder. That said, I don't think I'll be buying any future Origin CE's, at least not for $100 a pop, unless one's coming with a Char Aznable helmet (I'm sure that would be the inevitable $400 set).

Just get it off Amazon.jp

It has both English and Japanese audio (w/ENG subs). Comes out to around $52 shipped.

You'll probably only save $2 if you wait for the RightStuf release.

If anyone needs fairy tail 1 - 4 PM me

...

Also went into Walmart and they had an anime shelf. Everything was on for 10$, mainly some old Viridian sets. YMMV

Damn, I didn't even know that existed yet!
Yea, I dont know why TRSI is waiting to release a regular edition. Maybe they want to sell out of the LEs first. When they do release it, it will be the same as the Japanese one minus the slipcover and few language changes to the cover art.

Ah, the cover would be in Japanese, right. I'll just wait, then. I made sure to get all the Gundam Unicorn Blus with the English cover art, and I'd rather have these that way, too.

Just an fyi, DD is giving an extra 15% off sale that stacks with its current anime sale, so this might be a good time to pick up some Eastern Star titles since there's a lot of those in the current sale.  There are also some Sentai titles worth looking into as a part of the sale that you'd want to stack the code on.

Here's are the items on sale,

http://www.deepdiscount.com/asian-film-sale/b138141#!?pagenum=1&sortby=PriceLowHigh

and you can sort by DVD and blu-ray on the left side. *note, the sale is not just for anime, so there's a lot of Asian titles mixed in, along with some other questionable Asian titles mixed in...you'll see... ~_~*

Code: FREEMONEY

Expires: 4/17/15 @ Noon CST

Happy hunting.
