 Anime Steals and Deals

**It is highly recommended you check the latest posts in this thread as they will often have the most up to date deals. I will attempt to reflect these sales in the OP, but always check the latest posts.**

Rightstuf

Rightstuf runs studio sales every week, sometimes even twice a week. These range from anime, manga, and even artbooks. Prices are decent, and Rightstuf has amazing customer service. I highly recommend them for that alone.

http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/main/

You can save an additional 10% off a majority of their items (Including preorders) by buying their Got Anime membership

http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/action/store/item/Item?ItemName=gotanime1

Amazon

Amazon tends to offer lower everyday prices on their anime, and often run sales on Funimation items routinely. Keep track on your favorites or check your daily deal's for a possible 5% off of some based off your history on Amazon.

(Also, I'd also recommend to check out Amazon's top 100 deals in Anime Bluray/DVD as they tend to show what's popular, or what is on sale.)

http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/movies-tv/2959127011/ref=pd_zg_hrsr_mov_1_3_last   (Blu Ray)

http://www.amazon.com/Best-Sellers-Movies-TV-Anime/zgbs/movies-tv/2959100011/ref=zg_bs_nav_mov_2_2958934011 (DVD)

DVDPlanet / Deep Discount

Known by many for their bad customer service, they often make up for it with their lower prices on a lot of their items. This and they routinely run sales specifically for anime.

http://www.dvdplanet.com/Pages/Search/Category.aspx?ec=42000

http://www.deepdiscount.com/index.cfm

I highly suggest when you order from them to only order in stock items, and not ones that are backordered. Save yourself the displeasure of having to deal with the headaches. And patience is a must with these sites.

Cheapassgamer

Maybe you will find something here on our own forums! We have a thread dedicated specifically to Anime and Manga for sale from fellow Cags.

with the loot crate thing, I figure I will give it a month because what the heck, it says the auto renew is on dec 5th, is that when I will be charged for this one, or is that when I will be locked in for the next month before I even get the first package?

I believe December 5th is the last date to lock in for Month 1 (as it ships out December 10th-15th).

EDIT: Yea, you need to cancel by the 5th if you don't want January's Crate. Though it's easy to cancel and sign back up again and by then there will likely be promo codes since Loot Crate sponsors half of YouTube.

In order to keep this crate and not get January's crate, cancel between November 28th and December 5th.

kk canceled. if for some reason that cancels this first month I still have time to sign up again.

it's so scummy to have the cut off date for the next crate being before you get the first one though >.>

edit: ooh a survey for why you left *spends 10 minutes writing about how auto renew is dumb and should be illegal to include during sign up and only allowed as an extra option after you sign up for something :p*

Well, they don't want you to pay for 1 month, they want you to pay for 3-6 months minimum. Most of the promo codes work only on 3-month packages minimum.

Don't fret. I ordered the first package and I'll relay what goes into it when it arrives. And if you really want the stuff, you'll be able to find it easily on eBay.

oh I am in for the first month, but no way am I going to commit to multiple months before I see what the first month is :p

it's not like the savings are that meaningful, plus there are likely a number of themes I will want to skip.

A giant robot or gundam month would likely be a good month for them but something I would want to avoid.

same with an ecchi month.

Title: WIZARD BARRISTERS COMPLETE COLLECTION

Run Time: 300 min.
Street Date: 3/1/2016
Format: DVD, BD
Language: English & Japanese with English Subtitles
SRP: $59.98, $69.98

SYNOPSIS: When the laws of magic are broken, it's the duty of the Police Department's deadly Section 1 to enforce them. But, since even craven maven mages and nefarious necromancers have the right to a fair trial, the job of defending them belongs to the Benmashi, the Wizard Barristers! It's a tricky profession, requiring both arcane ability and a judicious sense of jurisprudence, and at just seventeen, Cecil Sudo is the youngest Benmashi that Butterfly Law has ever employed. That means a lot of late nights burning the midnight brimstone, summoning up summaries, parsing phrases with paranormal paralegals and cutting deals with opposing counsels from hell. And when a young Benmashi starts to discover that her own charm may be more magically-based than she realized, there'll be a hex-tra incentive to work wonders outside the courtroom as well! Every trial is a witch trial as the most enchantingly Adept Attorney ever becomes a Master of the Art of Defensive Spells in WIZARD BARRISTERS!

SYNOPSIS: Everyone knows that lies can come back to bite you, but when Erika makes up a fake boyfriend to impress her new classmates, the results may literally end up hounding her forever! Yes, it was dumb, but what were the odds that the random guy whose picture she used would turn out to be a student at her own school? Or that said faux-boyfriend's silence would come with such a horrible price? Now Erika doesn't just have to run and fetch at Kyoya Sata's command, she has to bark too! Because he's literally treating her like a dog, and she just has to roll over and take it, or he'll tell everyone the truth! But that's not the worst part, because even though this wolf in hunk's clothing has Erika collared, she may be starting to have REAL feelings for him anyway! Is she barking up the wrong tree, or could true love be unleashed in WOLF GIRL & BLACK PRINCE?

Unfortunately, after putting their trust in the scatterbrained sorceress Celcia, the spell to send them back to Earth ends up getting scattered to the winds, with different parts attaching themselves to the bodies of Elves all across the planet. Now the only way to put it back together is to travel around the world, convincing elves to take off all their clothes for a "spell check"! Fortunately, the team also has access to a T-74 tank, so it's time for the weirdest road trip ever. Warning! There are naked elves ahead as the ultimate fanboy fantasy is launched in THOSE WHO HUNT ELVES!

For all its beauty, it's also tiny… so small that there's only one school, one where most of the students have known each other all their lives. Fortunately, he soon meets four girls… Rena, Mion, Satoko, and Rika, who're willing to let the new guy in town join their afterschool club. And for a while, things seem wonderful. Until Keiichi starts discovering strange things, like the project manager for a controversial dam project being found dismembered five years ago. As he digs deeper, there are whispers and rumors of other murders and disappearances, stories of a town curse, and mysterious rituals. And then people he knows start to die. What secrets have the people of Hinamizawa kept hidden from the rest of the world? And could his new friends somehow be involved? The shocking answers will be revealed WHEN THEY CRY!

Title: CELESTIAL METHOD COMPLETE COLLECTION
Published by: Sentai Filmworks

Run Time: 325 min.
Street Date: 3/22/2016
Format: DVD, BD
Language: Japanese with English Subtitles
SRP: $49.98, $59.98

SYNOPSIS: It's been seven years since Nonoka Komiya last lived in Lake Kiriya City. However, while she knew that there would be changes in the town, she's still unprepared for what she finds upon her return: A giant saucer hovers over the entire city, as it has since shortly after she and her family left. Stranger yet, a girl she doesn't know, Noel, is waiting for her, claiming that they have met before. Confused, Nonaka tries to focus on reconnecting with her old friends, but odd memories, suppressed in the wake of her mother's death, begin to float to the top of her consciousness. Can it be that she has met Noel before? And how does this connect with the appearance of the saucer itself? To solve the riddle, Nonoka must join with her friends and rediscover the events that occurred before she left Lake Kiriya. Because there's more than a mystery that must be solved: there's a promise that has to be kept in CELESTIAL METHOD.

Title: MONTHLY GIRLS' NOZAKI-KUN COMPLETE COLLECTION
Published by: Sentai Filmworks
Distributed by: Section23 Films
Run Time: 300 min.
Street Date: 3/29/2016
Format: DVD, BD, COMBO
Language: English & Japanese with English Subtitles
SRP: $59.98, $69.98, $129.98

SYNOPSIS: You know how the story goes: girl crushes on guy, girl confesses feelings to guy, guy mistakes confession for a job application. Okay, maybe that's not how it usually goes, but that's what happens when Chiyo Sakura finally gets up the nerve to tell her classroom crush Nozaki how she feels. Since she doesn't know that he's secretly a manga artist who publishes under a female pen name, and he doesn't know that she doesn't know, he misunderstands and offers her a chance to work as his assistant instead of a date! But while it's not flowers and dancing, it is a chance to get closer to him, so Chiyo gamely accepts. And when Nozaki realizes how useful Chiyo can be in figuring out what girls find romantic, he'll be spending even more time with her "researching" while remaining completely clueless. Could Chiyo's romantic frustration possibly get any more drawn out of proportion? The answer will be profusely illustrated in MONTHLY GIRLS' NOZAKI-KUN!

Title: UTAWARERUMONO OVA
Published by: Sentai Filmworks
Distributed by: Section23 Films
Run Time: 85 min.
Street Date: 3/29/2016
Format: DVD, BD
Language: English & Japanese with English Subtitles
SRP: $29.98, $39.98

SYNOPSIS: You may have thought the saga of the mysterious masked warrior Hakuoro was over, but the fight for justice and honor never ends. Even in a world filled with sorcery and epic battles, there's always time for a few adventures on the side! Journey back to the world of UTAWARERUMONO and discover three amazing new stories: Can the priestess Urutori find a way to solve the problem of an abandoned infant, or will she end up raising the child herself? Can healer Eluluu resolve a situation that involves youth potions, some unusually well-intentioned kidnappers, and a very unorthodox romance? And finally, learn just how much trouble a couple of girls can get into on a simple afternoon fishing trip. (Because when it involves magic fish, and two of the girls are Touka and Aruruu, the answer is… plenty!) The tales may be a little shorter, but the fantasy is every bit as fantastic as all the characters you love return in UTAWARERUMONO - THE OVA COLLECTION!

Title: VAMPIRE PRINCESS MIYU COMPLETE COLLECTION

Format: DVD
Language: English & Japanese with English Subtitles

What is certain is that she was born of Vampire and Human; the human half granting her the ability to walk by day, while her craving for the blood of the living brands her forever as a creature of the night. Now, together with her sole companion, the Shinma known as Larva, she exists in the twilight realm where the worlds of light and shadow overlap, trapped in the body of a teenager forever. Her task: to serve as Mankind's last defense against the forces of Darkness. To hunt down those who would seek to harm the human race, and to cast them back into the depths from which they came. Prepare to stalk the night as the death-dance of undead predator and prey begins in the anime classic VAMPIRE PRINCESS MIYU - THE SERIES!

Sooo......got this in today. Needless to say this is probably one of the worst LE's Funi has done. It is a clear slipbox (thin btw) and it has some artcards and the amaray case as you can see. Oh everything is backwards as well. So when you pull the slipbox off the shelf. The art that is usually on the front is actually on the back.

I feel like the creator of Dragonar Academy should be apologizing to his family, principal, and religious leader.
Yeah tell me about it. I opened it and saw the cards as was like wow lol. About on par with the awesome Sacred Blacksmith love pillow posters.
Again worst design ever Funi. About as bad as the other crap they have been putting out, e.i. the PE stuff.

Wth happened to Dragonar Academy. Lol
Dunno, it got weird haha.

If it was "Dragonball Z" and "The Big O", I would check out the Anime Loot Crate.

Besides, Rightstuf's Blind Boxes are as little as a dollar. In fact, I bought a couple along with one of the Dr. Slump bundles and a Resident Evil manga to reach the $50 order with free shipping.

I'm still curious to know what's in these Anime Crates though.  Does the Bank of America offer work with these?

I believe the BoA does because it's still being bought by the same site, just as a subsection.

From what typical Loot Crates are and what the site says, expect T-Shirts, figurines (not Figma or Play Arts Kai quality, more like FunkoPops or gashopon figures), general trinkets, small cosplay gear, manga volumes, apparel, keychains, etc.

Hopefully we won't get Naruto ice cube trays or DBZ shoelaces.

Hopefully Turn A Gundam goes on sale at some point. I've been holding out on it, with the hopeful expectation Rightstuf drops the price within the next month.

Edit: Speaking of Gundam, just noticed Rightstuf has the second blu-ray collector's edition for Gundam: The Origin now available. Not sure how I missed that, and not sure I want to drop $100 on it after buying the first one back in the spring...

It was announced on their Facebook awhile back, but I think after the first release the news for it was generally pretty under the radar since the price and what not was still pretty much the same...expensive. :*(

What is Dangan Ropa rated Tv-wise?  It looks interesting, but it reeks of a show that's violent and bloody just for the sake of being violent and bloody.  Also, OMG $35 Nadia!  Hmmm... Dangan is TV-14

What is Dangan Ropa rated Tv-wise? It looks interesting, but it reeks of a show that's violent and bloody just for the sake of being violent and bloody. Also, OMG $35 Nadia! Hmmm... Dangan is TV-14
It's based off the Vita game that is a murder mystery sort of thing. There is blood but it's all pink for... reasons.

That does help, but I'm also curious about is the violence on-screen or a case where they cut away at the last second? (or they show the shadows)

Not sure why it's a big deal but the screens I've seen of it show violence on-screen. I'd just say try a episode to see if you want to bite.

Hey - long time lurker of this thread, first time commenter. I might jump at the FLCL omnibus manga, been wanting that for a bit. But, I'm not getting close to $50 for free shipping...hmm. How is shipping normally there? If it's more than $5 for something like just the manga item, it's not worth jumping for me - I can get it for that price at Amazon w/ free 2 day shipping.

EDIT: Found the shipping info on the website. $3.99 for the book. Meh, that's not worth it unless I can really find quite a bit of other stuff to add to my shipment.

So quick question, wasn't the LE of K on sale for $35 yesterday? Why is it $56 today?
It could be possible once they sold a certain amount that were on sale, the rest in stock would just go back to regular price.

That's kind of how it worked last year with ViZ titles. Pretty scum, but if it's the same thing again, aw well. :*(

Ahh damn, I was going to order it yesterday but I fell asleep early and saw it changed price today. Oh well that's fine, still ordered a few things so far!

DD is having an anime "sale", if anybody is interested.

Not really much there except for maybe one or two titles, but that's about it.  Might be more worthwhile when they give out the discount codes which stack on top of these sales.

DD Anime Sale

I find it hilarious that Sentai expects people to lay $26 for Those Who Hunt Elves when you can get one of the many ADV boxsets for under $5.

How good/bad is the live action Lupin the Third?
If you mean the newer one, it is very pretty but is overall pretty bad and generic.

How cheap are you waiting for? Turn A pt. 1 is ~28 bucks on Amazon.

Just picked up my Twilight Time copy of Space Pirate Captain Harlock 3D... Sale went live a few minutes before 4PM, and its limited to 3500 copies, so don't know how long it will last...
