Amazon tends to offer lower everyday prices on their anime, and often run sales on Funimation items routinely. Keep track on your favorites or check your daily deal's for a possible 5% off of some based off your history on Amazon.

(Also, I'd also recommend to check out Amazon's top 100 deals in Anime Bluray/DVD as they tend to show what's popular, or what is on sale.)

Known by many for their bad customer service, they often make up for it with their lower prices on a lot of their items. This and they routinely run sales specifically for anime.

Manga still owns the movies, so it's in the same area as GitS:SAC. The series is in limbo.

As for recommendations, I heavily recommend Cat's Eye, Fruits Basket, Abenobashi, and (if you are a Naruto fan) both Road to Ninja and The Last.

Whatever you do, do NOT buy Shining Hearts. That piece of boring trash does not deserve any money.

Huh, I didn't know that they released volume 10 of Black Lagoon. I assumed that they had just given up on releasing any after 9.

I don't know that it will be enough to get me to place an order today, but I guess I can double check my sales item list.

The Perfect Collection was actually my first ever anime boxset. Even got the Director's Cut re-releases with WETA interviews later on. I don't miss not having it anymore.

Weird, my Platinum Complete is more of a thin pak. I didn't even realize there were two different versions of Platinum Complete. Also the covers are reversed lol.

I think it would be very hard to shop for one of these sets considering all the different versions and the lack of descriptive info about them.

Here are all the Evangelion US releases of the series.

Original singles > Perfect Collection > Director's Cut Volumes 7 & 8 > Platinum singles > Platinum boxset > Platinum tin > Platinum thinpak > Platinum Holiday set

All the Platinum sets have the same extras, but the thinpak and Holiday sets were remastered to be on one less disc. All the Platinum versions have both the original and director's cut version of the final 6 episodes. The OG DC releases had interviews with WETA about the now-cancelled live-action movie.

And people say DBZ has too many re-releases.

bummer about the limbo....really hate that kind of stuff. evangelion deserves a blu ray release damnit as does ghost in the shell.

lol....to be fair dbz does has a lot of re-releases....that said now that we are on the topic i had no idea evangelion had so many releases....but to be fair it is evangelion and deserves it.

Loot Crate Anime has announced their new theme: Enchant. Fairy Tail and No Game No Life have confirmed content. Regular LC has also changed slightly to always include a new shirt, so I assume the Anime Crate will also follow suit.

They often do up to 40 percent off; rarely do they go above that. A couple days ago they had a full B1G1. I missed that one so 45 percent off is the next best thing.

Probably just as good, really, considering the things you buy won't all have the same price.

Their common sale is 30-35% off Used. 40% and above is reserved for big sales. If you can find what you want, grab it, especially since Hastings prices are usually the cheapest around before the sale. Managed to get Fairy Tail Volumes 16 and 17.

Anyway, my recommendations for RS's sale today are Aquarion (which is amazingly cheesy from Episode 3 on) and K-On.

they do decent percent sales from time to time, the big thing is the stock fluctuates so you really need to jump on them quickly when the sales go because everything gets grabbed up.

Yeah, I was actually able to order a bunch of dumb anime blu rays on a gohastings sale finally. Ordered six used anime sets and it only came out to $100. I'm excited to see how this turns out. That was one hell of a discount.

Viz is re-releasing Boruto the Movie to theaters on December 13th and 14th. This time they've teamed up with Fathom events (the same company FUNimation teams up with) so it's more widespread this time around.

just going to say flowers of evil(bought it last xmas rightstuf sale) badly needs a season 2.

season 1....is horribly average, whereas the last episode sets up and leads into what has basically been taunted was going to happen....the last episode previews mostly what you might have actually been expecting to happen.....for that reason the show badly needs a season 2 as season 1 is a giant set up and because thats all season 1 is....one big set up, its a bit terrible.

the animation style is unique and different though.

I admit....i struggled to get through it....but after watching the last episode i about died knowing there isnt a season 2.

Season 2 is never going to happen since it was a huge bomb in Japan,since people could not accept the animation. I personally loved the show and I understand why they went with rotoscoping,you get those little details that traditional animation can't catch.

Just noticed something about Time of Eve. It looks like the Official Fan Book contains everything in the Deluxe Edition's book plus a lot more. Just buying the regular blu ray and the fan book is about $4 more than the price of the deluxe, so it seems like there is really no reason to get the deluxe.
