 Anime Steals and Deals

**It is highly recommended you check the latest posts in this thread as they will often have the most up to date deals. I will attempt to reflect these sales in the OP, but always check the latest posts.**

Rightstuf

Rightstuf runs studio sales every week, sometimes even twice a week. These range from anime, manga, and even artbooks. Prices are decent, and Rightstuf has amazing customer service. I highly recommend them for that alone.

You can save an additional 10% off a majority of their items (Including preorders) by buying their Got Anime membership

http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/action/store/item/Item?ItemName=gotanime1

Amazon

Amazon tends to offer lower everyday prices on their anime, and often run sales on Funimation items routinely. Keep track on your favorites or check your daily deal's for a possible 5% off of some based off your history on Amazon.

(Also, I'd also recommend to check out Amazon's top 100 deals in Anime Bluray/DVD as they tend to show what's popular, or what is on sale.)

DVDPlanet / Deep Discount

Known by many for their bad customer service, they often make up for it with their lower prices on a lot of their items. This and they routinely run sales specifically for anime.

I highly suggest when you order from them to only order in stock items, and not ones that are backordered. Save yourself the displeasure of having to deal with the headaches. And patience is a must with these sites.

Cheapassgamer

Maybe you will find something here on our own forums! We have a thread dedicated specifically to Anime and Manga for sale from fellow Cags.

You mean like garage overhead storage?
sorta.

I guess kind of like this

imA4pdh.png

just a DVD shelf size with a clear front so you can see what dvds are there and an easy way to slide dvds in and out.

though I suppose you could also just make it a long shelf that can hold dvds normally but would need a ladder to see what is there.

Something like that wouldn't work in the theater room in my basement - the ceiling is only 6'6" high from the floor - everyone would be hitting their heads on the shelves hanging down from the ceiling! I'd have to use tempered glass then, too, lol...

They definitely captured that garage sale feel.  There's a bunch of random, incomplete stuff at prices that are higher than I'd be willing to pay someone selling it at a garage sale.

It's like every one I've ever gone to.

Every single item I checked with the coupon gave me $1-$5 off which was not worth it
Right? I was kinda ticked. Dug through all those pages and found a good 5 or 6 things I thought Id like to add, my total dropped from $96.50 to $91.24.. I laughed and closed the browser.

you know if you were creative you could make shelves for the ceiling, you would just need a piece of wood to go across the ceiling the width of a movie on the side plus a little, and then a glass/plastic screen to hang off the bottom, and then little markers near the ceiling to hold stuff in place so you could put the dvds in so the spines are facing down visible through the glass.

sadly these don't seem to exist so I can't get you a picture of what I am thinking of lol.
If you want a VM environment or network built, I'm your guy. if it involves woodworking or power tools, then you might as well call up my local hospital and tell em to get me a bed ready.

So I noticed on amazon that they are beginning to release the Ranma 1/2 sets in a standard version not the SE version with the box, booklet and card. I feared this meant they are phasing out the SE sets and so I went ahead an ordered the last one I needed for my collection

Feels great to complete it.

Did the same myself a couple of weeks ago.

Blah, shipping kills the deal for me for DVD Planet. They charge me expedited since I live in Hawaii (nothing new there). I just need volumes 6 and 7 of Ranma. Guess I'll wait for a Rightstuf sale to roll around. Crossing my fingers they offer everything at $29.99 a piece again. I understand why there's some panic about the CE versions becoming OOP with the fact some online retailers have marked the first sets as discontinued and now Viz is releasing the standard editions, but I'll get worried by end of year. There has just got to be a better deal on the last set.

How much did you pay for Volume 7? That's the only one I'm missing and I've never seen it for below $35-40.

GoHastings is having a sale on Used DVDs $29.99 or less with the code YOURMOM. There aren't many anime titles in stock-mostly some S.A.V.E. titles, Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece-but there are a few in there. Just note that not every anime DVD under $29.99 is eligible.

Heads up. The GoHastings code is glitching out and actually has no price limit and does include Blu-rays. However, not all are eligible and a lot is OOS.

Placed a second order and got Baka & Test Seasons 1 & 2 (S.A.V.E. editions), AK0048 Blu-Ray Seasons 2, Phi-Brain Season 2.1 Blu-ray, Digimon Tamers Boxset, and Broadchurch Season 1 for $27 with shipping.

I find it a pain in the ass to navigate gohastings website. Unless you are poking around for specific titles it seems like you're subject to the crap that is their search engine.

Picked up waaaay too many blu-rays once again...

I just bought 18 blu rays for $84 total shipped... including a few anime  like Tekkonkinkreet,  Paprika,  FF Advent Children, Ghost in the Shell 2.0, and Berserk vol 1.  In addition to all 3 iron man movies, all 3 Mad Max movies, and handful of other misc titles.

For 2.0 they redid a lot or all the CGI with modern technology also various scenes were re-done if I recall but I haven't watched it in awhile. 25th Anniversary preserves and cleans up the original version.

Yeah don't get the 2.0 version it really butchers it by replacing hand drawn with CGI there are some comparisons online if you google it.

BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!

rightstuf now has Adult Blind boxes

Is hentai anime, hentai manga or live-action adult videos (Note: may not be Japanese); Will be new and never previously handled; May be in Bargain Bin** condition: That is, it may have a cosmetic scratch or dent, including (but not limited to) a scratched case or cover, a wrinkle in the cover, or a dented case corner, but we warrant the item will otherwise work as intended; May be a single volume from a multi-volume set; and/or May be a random volume from a series.

I've never ordered from funimation shop before this weekend and all I have to ask is WTF is OSM worldwide??? The tracking number they provided doesn't even work.

well as i said i have both....apparently i watched 2.0 at some point as its opened. i dont recall if i noticed the butchering or not. i tend to not always notice these things unless its ridiculously obvious or if i just watched the original before hand which i highly doubt.

but thanks for the answers people.....i'll most certainly have to crack open the 25th anniversary blu ray sometime soon.

Never heard of the site as well, but I also ordered something from Funimation last week and my tracking number does work. You sure you're putting in the correct number?

Not gonna lie... I'm intrigued. (Provided the items in question are guaranteed not to be used..)

But there are many other H-works I want to buy before going random. Fakku and other publishers have brought just so many of my favorite artists/series over lately.

Something about the wording of "Blind Adult Box" sounds very disturbing. I wonder what you get for $1.

Wait, do I want to know?

Signs point to no.
