 Anime Steals and Deals

**It is highly recommended you check the latest posts in this thread as they will often have the most up to date deals. I will attempt to reflect these sales in the OP, but always check the latest posts.**

Rightstuf

Rightstuf runs studio sales every week, sometimes even twice a week. These range from anime, manga, and even artbooks. Prices are decent, and Rightstuf has amazing customer service. I highly recommend them for that alone.

http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/main/

You can save an additional 10% off a majority of their items (Including preorders) by buying their Got Anime membership

http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/action/store/item/Item?ItemName=gotanime1

Amazon

Amazon tends to offer lower everyday prices on their anime, and often run sales on Funimation items routinely. Keep track on your favorites or check your daily deal's for a possible 5% off of some based off your history on Amazon.

(Also, I'd also recommend to check out Amazon's top 100 deals in Anime Bluray/DVD as they tend to show what's popular, or what is on sale.)

DVDPlanet / Deep Discount

Known by many for their bad customer service, they often make up for it with their lower prices on a lot of their items. This and they routinely run sales specifically for anime.

I highly suggest when you order from them to only order in stock items, and not ones that are backordered. Save yourself the displeasure of having to deal with the headaches. And patience is a must with these sites.

Cheapassgamer

Maybe you will find something here on our own forums! We have a thread dedicated specifically to Anime and Manga for sale from fellow Cags.

Is the 20% off coupon on time use only, or can I use it on multiple orders?
One time use, but it applies to the whole order. You also can only use one coupon at a time, so you couldn't combine it with that free shipping coupon you get from buying a year of premium (you still get free shipping if your order hits $150).

Btw, if you get into Nendos or other figures, CAG has a figure thread: https://www.cheapassgamer.com/topic/279912-japanese-video-game-figure-thread/

I keep going back to the sentai sale to order more stuff. I must stop.

Finally got my first order from the preblack friday sale.

Nice. I don't think Kobayashi maid dragon is gonna go lower in the rightstuf sale, so I guess I'll get it here.

you should split your order so you can all those free months of HIDIVE
I checked my account a few days ago and they took all my credit off. This isn't the first time they have removed promo credit. I emailed them about it but they never got back to me.

Also looks like Square spent a lot like me lol. Probably would have got it cheaper during the BF sale. Also this sale last till Jan 05 irrc. I think that is what the email said.

Is patlabor a good series to get into ?
I've always enjoyed it. It's often considered a mecha anime, but it feels a lot more slice-of-life. It follows the day-to-day lives of a team of police who happen to use robot suits as part of their jobs. Good stuff, if a bit more laid-back. The new bundle release that they put out is great, as it wraps together the whole series and films, which can be quite costly and difficult to collect separately.

They let you stack your credit?

Thankyou im going to go for the bundle you mentioned

I do the opposite. I keep telling myself I won't spend too much so I just get enough for the free shipping. And then I end up placing a different order later. If you add up my individual orders I could've gotten another free month of hidive.

I have a $77 worth of stuff in my cart that I'm debating on picking up.

I do want the complete series of Rinne though
$77? That's it? I'm not that even into anime and I ended up spending a pretty penny on this sale.

Not exactly anime, but Avatar The Last Airbender and Korra BR complete sets are on sale as Amazon dotd:

TLA BR for $19.31: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BC5STNG/

Korra BR for $19.58: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MCQLFEZ/

I already have the individual Korra BR releases, but I grabbed TLA BR set as I only had the DVDs. Even though TLA wasn't shot in HD, the BR release is much nicer quality than the DVDs.
At least they finally fixed that blurring effect that the first season had. Ugh. I had just bought this for 7 bucks more.

Does anyone know if the akira steel book blu goes on sale often?
It looks like it was around $19 november 2017 as i bought it for that price from Amazon. It might have been a lightning deal. Otherwise looks like it was a similar price back in March.

If you looked earlier, you wouldve read i spent a lot more in the Black Friday sale my dude.
Also, you shouldn't have to explain yourself. You buy what you want. I, ironically enough, spent 77 bucks on the Sentai sale as well. There's still more that I want, but I already have a backlog, so I don't want to go crazy.

Looks like I'm not buying anything this year. Always depended on Rightstuf's Christmas themed sale but it looks like they aren't doing anything this year.

LOL - Sorry, I didn't mean to offend. I was just joking around. Yeah, I spent a lot on this sale. I now have a sizable anime backlog (though nowhere near my VG backlog ... er, collection). [Sigh] I think I have enough anime to last me several years now. That said, those prices were too tempting to pass up. Doubtful we'll see prices like that again. I don't recall past Sentai sales havig prices like these before.

Totally! Again, was just kidding around. I think I went a little "crazy" on this one, but like I said, don't buy much anime (mostly because prices are so high by comparison to US/BBC TV shows).

I don't think anyone posted about the B&N buy2get1 free on all manga yet.

https://www.barnesandnoble.com/b/all-manga-buy-2-get-the-3rd-free/_/N-1gn4
There's also a 20% off code BEMERRY that works on $50+. It doesn't stack fully, taking closer to 15% off when used with B2G1, but it still ends up being more than half off for most things when combined.

I think the code ends today, while the B2G1 ends in January.

They might be running a promo in stores still for getting gift certificates that activate after the holidays when you buy gift cards now. Like $20 if you buy $100 or something. I don't know if they're still running it, but it's another potential saving. I plan on using the ones I already have on B2G1 volumes that specifically say can't be used with coupons (mostly pre-orders).

Disclaimer:

The bonus gift certificates are only valid for like a month or so in January, so don't get them planning on keeping them til next year. Like I said, I don't know if they're still running the promo. They were before Thanksgiving, and they were doing a new one 2 weekends ago.

Has anyone ordered from funimation.com and have the payments split on one order? I got Hellsing for $59.99 and they finally charged my card Wednesday but then refunded the amount. The next day there's a $20 charge on my card with the order number and then again today another charge of $20 with the order number. Wonder if another charge of $19.99 will show up?

Dragon Ball Z: Seasons 1-9 Collection

93.25. Solid price. Don't have DBZ on Blu Ray or DVD, so I thought now would be a good time to pick it up. It also at a historic low
I just completed my collection through piecemeal like last week and was fucking kicking myself when I saw this. Definitely cheaper then buying the seasons separately, it averages out to a little over $10 a season.

I also believe that the Amazon edition is the only way you can get the case that holds all the seasons as well.

And if anyone is interested in DB Super on Blu Ray, a lot of sellers on eBay are bundling parts 1-5 between $60-$70.
