so I sold a book on ebay, a rather expensive one going for about $180+, I had a buyer that asked me questions about it beforehand, and then proceed to bid on it, he beat out other bidders and bid on the item multiple times. it's been a week since he won, without payment. I've sent him a few messages throughout that time and just sent an invoice last night. he finally messages me back saying "I have no interest in this item and never did, and I never bid on it, I don't know why you keep contacting me, please cease all contact with me and take your issues up with ebay"..... wtf?

so what do i do now? i want to at least leave this jerk negative feedback, but im afraid he'll give me negative too if i leave him neg. ? I've really done nothing wrong in this situation, I told him a few times there's no rush in payment but try to keep communication open so i know whats going on and that was the response i got from him after a week.

lol all you can do is file a complaint and relist.

ebay will refund your listing fees and you can leave him some stinging feedback on his account.

At least you had other bidders interested, maybe message them that your item is available again.

How can you leave negative feedback? The best you can do is file a non-paying bidder complaint.

I would check with ebay about it also, as it may be a hacked account. What book were you selling for that much on ebay?

Not sure how long it's been since you sold on ebay but sellers can not leave any feedback until a buyer pays for the auction they've won.

Only option is to file a NPB claim to get your sellers fees back and then re-list the item.

Yeah, you cant give the buyer negative feedback anymore and it sounds like the account was hijacked.

Since the actual account holder doesn't seem to be interested in their account being hijacked, file a nonpaying bidder with ebay and once that has been resolved you can do a second-chance offer to the next highest bidder. Or you can re-list again.
I would also check his eBay account and see what he is selling. Possibly he was manipulating prices.
Ooh, never thought about that one. That would explain why sometimes I see a particular auction which is seemingly is the same as all others, go up to some ridiculous amount, while others are in the same price range.

Call me crazy but if the buyers acct got hijacked, wouldnt he have noticed and been proactive in doing something about what happened vs getting snippy with the seller?
