I sold my Vita to GS the other day during the 100% console
Bonus and got $180, which I intended on selling for $165 cash. But I'm finding it incredibly hard to do that, so I figured a PS3 wouldn't be a bad purchase, especially since my bro has a huge library of games already that I can borrow at any time.

I know a normal system is like $259? And I don't mind paying the extra minus my gift card, but I would like the best bang for my buck and maybe get a free $30-$50 gift card WITH the purchase so I can buy a game or two with the system.

It has to be GameStop because I want to use that credit I already own..

If you don't mind doing a little legwork, convert the GS credit to Best Buy or Amazon credit. Best Buy even sells Amazon gift cards. Amazon Warehouse regularly sells PS3s for $150, or maybe you'd prefer to save the Amazon credit since that's as good as cash for many people.

You may want to wait a couple of weeks for a possible price drop. There are a lot of rumors swirling around that Sony will drop PS3 prices in mid-August at GamesCom.

This; This is because Sony is releasing a new PS3 model, a super slim PS3 as it is called.

The super slim may not be for a while. My PS3 recently broke and I'd like to pick up a new one, but there seems to be 0 sales or incentives going. I'd just like a $50 giftcard.
