Any Cheap Laptop Deals?

There was a cheap Compaq laptop advertised for that Comp USA sale going on tonight from 6PM - Midnight. I also know of another site that usually has deals on laptops, but I don't know if I should post it here (I don't want any mods to get angry).

Those sites are great for when you are LOOKING for something. After you get what you want, DO NOT go back because you will always find the item you just bought for $50-$100 cheaper than what you paid for it. It's torture. :cry:
 
i just got back from CC with the Laptop.

the actual upgrade is YMMV..

It is not bad for $500.
Mine came w/ the upgrade and the system comes with DVD+RW and 512MB A/R..
also got a free canon printer..

Hey just curious but since your's has the upgrade did the box that the laptop came in have proper labeling (as in sempron 3000+ and DVD burner)? I'm looking for a lighter laptop for next school year and the price is right :)
 
no.. even though the box say it has 2800+ and w/o DVD+RW..

The free Upgrade is YMMV..
three common things to notice is that

1. the display model has 3000+ even though it say 2800+

2. You can check the DVD-ROM and see if it has +RW writing.

3. Most importantly, the serial number should end in 170 130.. or something..
 
If you can wait awhile, slickdeals.net always posts those $750 off $1499 laptop coupons from Dell. The last coupon was last week so it could be a few more weeks before Dell starts another promotion like that, but trust me, they always come up. I'm waiting to get my Inspirion 9200 with that coupon. Its very limited though, it only runs for a few hours and I think it's only the first few hundred orders, so good luck!
 
i noticed a few going on around here for about 300 or so.. (granted they aint top of the line) also its always good to check in stores for the display models normally all you have to do is fix some little thing and you get a great new computer for a fraction of the cost .. (i purchased a HP a couple years ago with like an 80 gig hard drive dvd burner printer moniter for 300 all i had to do was fix the soundcard and get a new mouse and keyboard for it) so yeah check them first.
