Any component cable crippling?

If you were an early adopter to HDTV, then your HDTV most likely has only 420p and 1080i through component....I know that early this year, most of the studios agreed not to cripple any of their Blu-Ray discs over component cable connections to these older HDTVs....does this still hold true? Is there any other PS3 game crippling over component? Thanks.

The only you lose with component is 1080p, I think.

I don't have a PS3 (yet); Can anyone confirm?

HD and BD players can 'cripple' upconversion of SDVD content over component. I think HD content will still be 1080i. They would have to recognize the ICT flag, I believe. I think to be accurate, the disks themselves would be crippled with the ICT flag turned on, and the player would have to follow those instructions.
I don't think the HD consortium has decided to activate this 'feature' on new titles let, though I'm not 100% on that. I would think this would be big news [at least in the HD world].
I don't know about the PS3.
