Any deals on Thundercats season 1?

I'm waiting for the next 20% off deepdiscountdvd sale, probably around black friday.

fry's has it for $45 (thanks fidodido) :D

it looks like it's going to be around this price range for all the stores.

EDIT: LOL, i just noticed that 2 of the consecutive posters have transfomer avatars.

I was surprised no store put a good deals for the Thundercats set in their ads... I remember BB put He-Man in their ad last week but no love for Thundercats.

Anybody have any idea why this Thundercats set is only $20.76??

I saw that it's different (only 2-discs and the running time is 276 Minutes) but the release date was 8/9/05... I wasn't aware of a different Thundercats Volume 1 set... any ideas?

The difference is that they are the split up volumes, I saw these at Hot Topic last week. Just like they had the different volumes for Transformers and then a complete box set with all the volumes. Same basic idea.

They are splitting Season 1, Volume 1 into 2 sets?

I know Season 1 will have 2 volumes but i didn't know they were going to split them into 4 sets.

It would be cool if they put in the Voice recording bloopers as Extra's but with all the swearing I doubt it.

As long as it's not as ridiculous as the outtakes from Berserk.

I had a hard time finding Thundercats in store at all let alone for a good price. Wal-Mart, Best Buy, AND Target didn't seem to stock this one at the B&M stores for some reason, at least around here. I ended up just dropping 50 bones for it at FYE. Haven't gotten to the extras yet though.

according to the stores here, they didn't get it in but they should have. I've been waiting oh so patiently but that was the final nail in the coffin that has been my week...

spent an hour looking for it last night and the best I found was amazon...seems like its $45 all around, think Im going to wait on the next deep discount sale :)

Will this set stay at $45 for just this week?

I'm debating whether or not to pick it up this week (since there's no cheap deal)... unless stores jack it up to MSRP ($65) next week.

I saw a 20-second commerical spot for the Thundercats DVD on Thursday night... on Comedy Central of all places.

Border's is the only place here in town who has it. They said $70 for it! I don't know why none of the major retailers here didn't get it in and neither do they. BB said they should have gotten in 19 copies that never showed up...

Maybe they "fell off the back of the truck."

Must have happened to every store here in town then. I wouldn't doubt it though...

I got it for $50 at Target on release day, but another Target around me doesn't seem like they ever got any in. If anyone's interested, I wrote a review of the set here.

There's some issues, but it's a great nostalgia trip. :)

Thanks for the review... so should I hold off buying this set for now?

According to your observations, there are video/audio problems and there should be a recall:

The second episode leaves more room for concern. From the start something seemed wrong, and eventually I came to the realization of what the problem is: There’s no music. That’s right, there’s no music. There’s echo-ridden speech and sound-effects, but not an ounce of orchestra to back it up (save for the opening and ending credits). It becomes clear just how much the show relied on its oft-repeated score to set the mood. The voice actors and chunky animation just really can’t carry the episode.

Given these grievous errors, I can’t imagine that Warner Bros. will just sit on this and let it be. There will most likely be a recall of at least disc one from the set to correct the problems and get everyone working copies of the first two episodes. The overall quality of the discs is pretty mediocre.

Eh, even if I had known about the issues ahead of time, I'd still have gotten the set. Neither issue is really that big of a deal. Just a  in the direction of WB's QA.

Get it and enjoy it, and swap out the disc if it gets a recall.

I saw 3 copies of this at the local BB.

Noticed there was a hologram insert in front the regular box... not sure if it's just for initial batch of the sets or for all future releases too.
