Any fun Japan-only games (which do not require knowing Japanese)?

Right now I've got Kururin Squash and that puzzle collection (Dr. Mario + Yoshi's Cookie + Tetris Attack)... with the two Donkey Kongas pending.

Anything else I should try finding while it's still possible?

Mr. Driller Drill Land

http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-4a-49-en-15-mr.%2Bdriller-70-1t4.html

Got this recently (have had a similar GBA version for a long time) and it's fun. The lush orchestral music was suprising as I wasn't expecting it. There's dialog, but I just pretend I'm watching a foreign cartoon or just hit the start button to skip. Navigate around the different theme areas and just play.

This was OOS during the 25 off sale and perhaps before, but recently came back in stock. I jumped on this because I didn't want to miss out.
Mr. Driller Drill Land
You need to have a modified or Japanese Gamecube to play this or Donkey Konga with any saving. Just a note to folks who use Freeloaders.

I decided Mr. Driller is probably too close to the Dreamcast / DS versions to buy it again.

Although it would be fun to ask girls over to play Mr Driller.

Donkey Konga 3... I didn't even know it existed, and doubt I'll be able to find it now.

Anything else?

Are these exceptions or is it necessary to have a modded or Japanese GC to save in any Japanese games?

Also, does anyone know where Star Solider and Adventure Island can be bought online(other than eBay)?

Doshin the Giant is another game that I have read some good things about. It was released in Europe and Japan, so you can play it in English if you can find a PAL copy.

oh damn.. that game was released in Europa?

was Giftpia also released over there?

I too got Mr. Driller Drill Land without knowing of the saving (or rather loading) difficulties. It's such a great game too, its a real bummer. Kururin Squash is awesome as well, and as for other accessible imports, I own Star Soldier and One Piece Treasure Battle, both of which are very enjoyable and import friendly. Star Soldier is your standard vertical shooter, and One Piece Treasure Battle is a cool capture the flag type battle game for up to four players, but I have plenty of fun on my own just trying to unlock all of the different cards.

Giftpia might have been planned for other regions at some point, but was only released in Japan.

If you're interested in Doshin, there's a Portuguese seller that has been listing sealed PAL copies for a while. I bought one from him last week for under $20 shipped.

Learning Japanese isn't that bad... if you put enough time into it you can learn enough to get you through a game in about two months time.

If that's too much, DreamMix TV World Fighters is a Smash Bros. type game where characters from Konami, Hudson and Takara fight.

On the roster is Simon Belmont, Solid Snake, Bomberman, Optimus Prime and Megatron, among others. Pretty good for shock value, but the game is just slightly above average (and some would say way below it.)

Doshin actually works great on NON Pal TVs, btw. The PAL version seems to be more friendly to import then any other PAL game I've ever experienced.
