have they released any limited edition ds lites?

i was thinking of importing the final fantasy III one but

1) will it work with american games?

2) wheres a good place to order one

DS games aren't region coded, so you would be fine.

As for best place to get one....play-asia?

All games from all regions work just fine on any DS, and the Japanese AC power adapter will work just fine here in the states as well.

I think Play-Asia will be your only option to buy it. Since Liksang got closed down by Sony.

Wow, that is expensive. I expected a premium, but $400 dollars is crazy. I was thinking it would've been around 200-250$

as far as other LE ds lites, there are two black ones and another white one. there's a winning eleven ds lite:

There's also a Pokemon Center LE one that came out with Diamond and Pearl (note this one doesn't come with the game I don't think):

And here's a white Pokemon DS Lite. This one wasn't available for sale, so it's pretty hard to get:

And here is of course the FF3 DS Lite

Then you add in the importing costs, the shipping. Then you have to remember that it's hard to find ANY ds lite to buy in japan since they keep selling out, and you realize that to get a limited DS lite in japan you're going to have to pay some good money.

But still, $400 is a rip-off. That's why they still have them in stock. I bought mine for about $300 or so.

There were two special edition U.S. normal DS systems (the teal Nintendogs one and a blue Pokemon one, though I'm not sure if the Pokemon one was normal blue with crappy decals or if it really had actual Pokemon logos or whatever on it).

dragging up this old topic rather than starting a new one. first (afaik) LE pink ds lite! comes with love and berry ds with a e-card reader-like attachment:

These LE editions are more expensive by a lot because they are not JUST the hardware it includest the game... like it or not. I wish they were seperate cause I don't read Japanese but what can you do.. Anyway, my local game importer Game Star has a website www.japanvideogames.com . I found some LE editions on their website for $50 cheaper (or so they claim).

FFIII LE - $350

Pokemon LE - $230 (Edit: like banpeikun said this one doesn't come with a game, so its cheaper)
