Gamestop is running their buy 2 preowned get one free here (southern CT), and the employees claimed that it would be offered for a few days at least. They had some random figurines for half off as well.
Blockbuster has the buy 3 preowned dvd's for $25, as well as buy 2 preowned games and get the third free and this deal will be on for the week (?). I went there looking for the office to give to a coworker since I saw that someone got the first season counted as one dvd in this deal in the dvd postings section, and it is apparently going to be a huge YMMV. The clerk said that they never got this set in to rent, so the only way that it would be for sale is if someone else had traded it in. And they split the disks for box sets (i.e., if the box had three disks, you would have to buy all three individually and would end up paying $25). The selection of movies is usually pretty good, you can get movies like Shrek 2 widescreen in almost new condition for instance for less than the price of one evening movie tix.
The mall here is under construction in addition to the normal holiday madness, so I have not gone near that place for awhile. The thought of going to some place like WalMart today was too frightening, as it is normally a madhouse without people hoarding stuff like half off wrapping paper. Stuff was pretty well picked over before Christmas here. You may find a cheap box of candy canes or something, but that is probably it. Unless I am just looking in the wrong places.
Did anyone find any good deals today?
(mods: I didn't know what is the best forum for this, so I took a chance and am placing it here. Please feel free to move it.)
