last years wasn't but jsut wondering if anyone knew it would be online this year.

and not that crappy $19.99 and under one, but the one that is coming up on the $50 games.

guessing it's not gonna happen

I am now contemplating driving 3 hours to Reno just for this sale. make a day out of it.

Just curious, why do people get so excited about this sale? Yes, I get that there are no restrictions, but barring the Green Tag stuff, you are basically getting three new release titles for $36 (including tax) per game. Doesn't seem worth all the hype since most new release games hit $30-35 within a week or two of release anyway, especially with all of the deals that pop up on CAG.

As far as I remember it was online last year. However if I recall there was a special link and instead of any game there were only about 15 of the top sellers.

the big deal is that by the end of october there are a lot of games I want, and if I can buy 2 of them and get 1 free, then hell I just saved $50. which would more than cover the gas money on the way down.

I drive a ford focus that gets good gas milage so I could get there and back in 1 tank of gas.

If it is online, it will probably only work with $49.99 games and for specific systems like they did in past years. It used to be online for all games but in 2001 there was a huge glitch where you could buy any 3 games and it would take $49.99 off total regardless of what the prices of the games were. People were buying 2 Jampacks for $7.99 each and a game like GTA 3 for $49.99 and getting a total price of $16. That was the last year all games were included on the sale online.

well as long as the top games are the new releases, then that would make me happy.

Hey, more power to you. I'm just saying that it averages out to $36 per game, and that is usually available (and sometimes much better) for new releases within 2 weeks of release. Maybe my opinion is skewed since I don't buy games until they hit at least the $20 mark.

ya just looked over a release list and there are around 7 or 8 games I would buy this month if I wasn't saving for the 360, but maybe with this sale I can pick up 6 of them and only spend $200. my list includes:

ssx on tour
brothers in arms earned in blood
sims 2
soul calibur 3 (barely makes it in for the sale, as long as it doesn't get delayed)
the new fire emblem
THAW (tony hawks american wasteland)
socom 3
battle field 2 (xbox or ps2)

and my most wanted SHADOW OF THE COLOSUS!!!!!!1

ya I don't have a problem paying full price if I have to, but I also like to get my stuff right away and not wait for pricedrops.

And for every game that does get a decent discounted price shortly after release, there's one that isn't. And having everything in one place is rather convenient instead of running around from store to store for different sales.

The fact that most of the games are going to drop within a couple months is true, but since the games I want will probably not drop in price soon (MK:DD, Mario Power Tennis, and Fire Emblem), it would make more sense for me to go with the deal.

Maybe Mario Power Tennis and/or MK:DD would drop this holiday, but it is still hard to tell.
ya I just hope when I make the 3 hour trip that the TRU isn't sold out of alot of the games cuz that would suck.
3 Hour trip - sheesh

Those are usually your run of the mill games though. Your AAA titles stay high longer, especially Nintendo's first and second party titles. And that's what I am looking forward to in this sale: Battallion Wars, Fire Emblem and DDR Mario Mix. Nintendo's best titles usually sell in high numbers for a long time. If people are buying them, why should they drop the price? That's why they don't and that's why this sale is super for someone like me.

i'll say it first, I just got OWN'D.

thanx for the link though, it gives me hope that it will be online.

and save me form driving to reno where I will inevitably lose all my money to blackjack, slots, and sluts. And get in a car wreck on their ugly freeway system, then have to hitchhike home.

Any new info?

I have alot of games I want to pick up, but they are on different consoles. So if it is anything like last years I am going to have to take a day off work and go down to reno for the TRU deal.

But if the online deal will not be as restricted as last years that would kick ass. would also save me a day of driving and gas money.

Mr Ryles, I live in Reno, I am gonna go to Toys R Us when the sale starts. I will be there to see if theres anything good, is there anything in particular that you would like me to look at for you?

mostly new games. I was planning on getting the new fire emblem for gamecube, tony hawk american wasteland, and shadow of the colossus.

mostly just update me with their stock, cuz I'll be pissed if I go down their and most the games are sold out.

Anything in particular besides the 3 games you listed? If you give me a list that would help, rather me trying to remember what they have and how many.

ok here is what you can check for:

sims 2 (any console version)
shadow of the colossus
THAW (ps2 or xbox)
soul caliber 3
fire emblem GC
Ninja gaiden black

thats all. and thanx alot for doing this for me.

i seem to just found this out, can anyone solidify the sale for me. So its buy ANY 2 $50 games and ANY game for free? Please correct me if im wrong.

yuo can buy any 2 games as long as they are ps2, xbox or gamecube, and get 1 free. of coarse the lesser valued game will be free.

so um, the sale starts like, um, tomorrow, and um, well I still have no info on the on-line part of the sale.

can someone please post the online codes here as soon as they are available. It should of started by now, I mean it is officially october 23 now EST.
