I have a hori compact pouch on order at play-asia but it doesn't look like it will be here in time for my trip. Do any of you guys know of any super cheap case for the lite that I could grab in a store? Right now I'm looking at the $10 mario sleeve at gamestop and the intec safe case for $10 at walmart. Any other suggestions or any even cheaper cases out there? It's only going to be temporary.

HAHA good suggestion but I need something to protect it a little while using it on the go. So I need it accessible.

I picked up a DS lite starter kit at Circuit City for $10 yesterday. I couldn't find it on their site, but it came with (I think) this car adapter - http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Bens...23556/catOid/-13861/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

A nifty 6 DS game holder. The games slide into one of 6 swivels and the whole thing slides back inside a plastic overshell. Probably not explaining it very well, but it's pretty slick.

2 extra styli - which do fit/snap in the DS lite.

A small case. Basically just room for the lite and a few games. There isn't room for the included game holder along with a lite inside the case. The case is similar to the one in this pack - http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Mad-...47270/catOid/-13861/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

I got it because it was just so damn cheap and included all of that crap. Still want to get a larger case that would hold the lite, charger, and a bunch of games. I may just jury rig something.

Sounds like you got the non-Lite starter Kit:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7676008&type=product&id=1134702322790 (with car thingy and no screen protectors)

As opposed to the Lite starter kit:

http://www.ebgames.com/product.asp?product_id=802264 (with screen protectors, but without car thingy)

There is this nice case that comes 12 in a pack. So if you can find 11 other people to split it with, you can get it pretty darn cheap.

I'm sure you can find it just about anywhere.

Nope, it's different from that. The game holder is all one piece with a slide out doohicky that the games attach into. The packaging did say DS lite on it, as well.

Found a picture of it:

So it's actually Mad Katz and not BDA - that's what I get for being too lazy to just go look at the thing. The kit has everything in that pic except it only has the see through game case, not the opaque black one as well. Wish it came with both as they'd fit side by side in the case, probably with room left over for several GBA games, if I wasn't using it to hold the lite.

This is the MadCatz case, right? Is the case itself worth the $10? I was seriously considering buying this yesterday too but didn't because the MadCatz logo is kinda ugly.

Yep, MadCatz.

Case is your basic padded shell has a flap in the middle with a mesh pocket. There really isn't much extra room in there with the lite. I haven't tried to cram it as full as possible, but I doubt you could get more than 2 or 3 GBA games. The plus side is that it will fit in your pocket (albeit a lot bulkier than just the naked lite.)

I wanted a small case I could fit in my pocket and the main reason I ended up buying this one is because I figured the game holder and car adapter was worth the $10.

I've ordered the Hori Multi pouch and plan to use the case from this set as a game case for trips where I want the lite and charger. With no lite in it I figure it could hold 10 DS games along with 4 GBA games pretty easily. Probably a lot more than that really.

As long as it doesn't have that stupid "play through" plastic. Those play through cases look great, but I don't want to play my DS in a case, I want to take it out!.

I got the play through case for my wife's DS. it's exactly like the E3 case, but I went ahead and yanked the "play through plastic" out. So long as you keep two of the zippered sides closed, it won't fall out. Plus it has a handy stretchy pocket on the outside to hold games.

No play through plastic in that one.
