any way to still get the 300 with helmet?

i'm located in the bay area and trying to find the best buy version of 300 with the helmet, but everywhere i see says sold out, i tried the 4 stores around me and they all said they wont get any more, is there any chance their wrong? will bestbuy.com have it in stock at some point?

It's completely gone from LA stores too. My guess is if it shows up at all it will be on ebay!
 
yeah i got the v for vendetta one a week after the release, so i figured this would be the same, i was to busy to go yesterday and this morning no place had it

bah, they also said they arent getting any more, its been a bad week, 360 died, no 300

anyone know anywhere else besides ebay?

bestbuy in nyc was also sold out. They were sold out of the regular 2 disc version also. I just ordered the 2 disc from amazon 21.99. If you order it with Hot Fuzz (16.99) you'll save $2. Free shipping and no tax. Good deal.
 
I was in a Best Buy in Tenleytown, DC the other day (hate that location by the way) and they had quite a few on the shelf still. So unless something changed between yesterday and today Best Buy should still have them. I don't know exactly how their online availability compared to what's in stores works though.

I didn't measure it when I last saw one, but small would be a good description. You would be really really really hard pressed to wear it. It's maybe about the size of a tennis ball, maybe a bit bigger.
 
thing was really small when i saw it at best buy yesterday. seems like a waste to me.

If your BB has some for some odd reason, get it immediately, these are limited, they will not be reordering anymore and I can almost guarantee you that by Friday your chances of getting one will drop to 0%.
 
I was in Best Buy yesterday morning about an hour after opening and they had about 4-5 left. It looked as though they had maybe only 10 to begin with. I was getting the HD-DVD so I passed on it.

They look high quality and are pretty heavy, they aren't as cheap looking as the V for Vendetta masks, and I'm not sure how much they are limited to. Could be that they just made less or that 300 simply got more fans over V.
 
Hated to do it but I got one off of ebay. payed 69.95 after shiping and tax. Thats the cheapest that I saw it. Now if only the comic con halo 3 scarab was going for 250 like it retails for, and not almost 500.

I think it matches the Halo 3 Legendary edition one - big enough for a small cat. So if Mr. Snuggles wants to play Spartan, he can.
 
I'm holding out that the eBay market will bottom out eventually as with the Metal Gear Saga DVD... I'm in no big rush to get it but it's one of those things that'd be nice to have.
 
Yeah the eBay market is just stupid high. What I paid was the cheapest I have seen a buy it now all day. It is sad that people do this. I'm wondering what the limit was for people to buy. It is I think usually 3.
 
There was no limit. I was lucky enough to see this thread and check stock and went down to my local Bestbuy. I couldn't find it...then I found it on a computer desk ... snatched up the last one :)
 
So if a location only had 10 in stock one person could have bought all 10. Thats BS and chances are is why this has sold out in less then 2 days. Best Buy should have put a limit on this.
 
yeah, apparently at one near me, they recieved 20, when i asked the guy how long it took to sell out he said "really fast, it was all one guy"
 
If you search for it on bestbuy.com you can see what stores have it available. It says the one by me has it available. There going for twice the MSRP? I might have to pick one up.

The minimum wage peon checkout persons almost never check the limits anyway. Maybe at Fry's, but not at Best Buy, Circuit City, TRU etc.

They don't give a damn. I just think hoarders are pretty damn pathetic, I mean, what, you go and buy up all of a certain item to make an extra what, $10 or $20 on it when all is said and done? WOW. WHAT A MOGUL. Donald Trump should be taking lessons from these guys.

I went on release day, and they sold out within 30 seconds. My fiance went around the front of the display and grabbed a copy, and I grabbed the last copy. They only got 15 in, and said they weren't getting anymore. One guy was taking the display apart, to see if there were any copies hidden behind it. People were so arrogant, and getting so pushy, yelling and cursing as to how they could be sold out in 30 seconds. I wasn't going to put the extra copy down and have some arrogant SOB pick it up, so I gave it to some really nice man who really appreciated it, and bought the other copy for myself.

The prices on ebay are beyond ridiculous...they're almost at $100 now after shipping.

I highly doubt any BB will have these sitting on the shelves now.

That is BS! My Best Buy has a policy of "limit 3 for any media item". I was at my BB when it opened and there was a line of about 15 people. Within one minute of opening, they were all gone. The only person I saw with more than one was some one old asian lady and she only had two. :roll:

To everyone whining though :cry: , you should have been there at opening as it seemed clear to me these would be limited and sought after (especially after reading speedy's posts for a couple weeks). I would be pissed if I waited for the store to open and one guy tried to buy all of them though.

My guess for the Best Buy that had one guy buy all of them, is that no one else showed up at opening. If there were more people wanting them at opening, I doubt the one guy would have been able to hold them off. It would be really hard to carry all 15-20 of them up to the register without a cart. :)
 
yeah my best buy never has a limit on how many of a media item, i dont know if it was really one guy, this is just what the wonderful minimum wage employee was telling me, i was able to find one though, for anyone in marin county, marin city had about 5 as of last night, i bought one (drove from sf to there to get it)

You know why some people who work retail aren't as fastidious or courteous to you as you'd like them to be? Because condescending, self important asses like you never fail to make known your utter contempt for them. I have friends who work retail, and I thank Christ almighty that I don't have to deal with people like you in my job every day.

Not everyone has yet reached your (I'm quite certain) dizzying heights of success yet, but that doesn't make them inferior to you, and it doesn't make them junkies or drunks. There a lot of people for whom an extra ten or twenty dollars can make a real difference. You disgust me.

To those on the board who aren't complete holes, if you're looking for one of these sets with the helmet, my Best Buy had some last night when I went, and I picked one up. It's worth a shot but I went to my BB but I only saw an empty cardboard display. I later went home and it says that that same BB had them in stock. Granted, I didn't look that hard but from what I can tell, the BB site was wrong.
 
The real question now since it is in high demand is to keep it sealed and keep it as a collectors item or open it.
 
Well, there's no plastic around it, so you don't have to worry about whether or not to open it, as it's basically already opened. The only thing that you would decide to break the seal on or not would be the actual DVD, and if you want to keep that sealed, then just keep the sealed one in there, and by the 1-disc to watch or something.

Dont know about you but some of us have to work. If this thing was to sell out to people buying it because they wanted it or they wanted to give it as a gift I wouldn't care. What I hate is the people who have to buy every one of them they can get and put them on Ebay or some other auction site. If that were to have happend and a search on Ebay will show you that it did not happen, I would have just said screw it I will just see what the Blueray and HD-DVD versions have for extras and get them if they have more then the 2 disc set. I guess I'm going to have to try and get into work on a different day if I can when some DVDs come out. I'm lucky enough to have that option some times just the past 2 weeks I wasnt able to take Tuesday off.
 
Just got back from Best Buy in Fairview Heights IL and they had one. I just paid 70 bucks for one on ebay after shipping. I'm now kicking my self in the ass for this. Stupid Best Buy they should be sold out. I'm thinking they had some put up and just put one out at a time till it sells. I think they do this some other stuff.
 
I am looking at pics on google image search right now and the thing looks freaking sweat, good for halloween. On topic, i would suggest checking back periodically in case someone returns it- although it may be more practical to just wait a month or 2 until the ebay prices drop down to something more sensible, the prices for bonuses usually drop within a few months.
