Anybody know how to erase data on a Blast Corps cart?

I got a copy of Blast Corps (N64) from ebgames and I think the previous owner basically 100%ed the game. Kind of confusing figuring out where to start when everything is unlocked.

Does anybody know if there is a way to erase the saved data? I poked around on the (fairly limited) menu but couldn't seem to find that option.

Didn't come with the manual or I'd look in there.

UPDATE: Hmm does this game even have a save battery? I found this from what I guess is a copy of the manual:

Memory Management Screen
You can access the Memory Management screen by pressing and holding
START, then turn ON your Nintendo 64 system. Continue to hold START
until the Memory Management screen appears. This screen allows you to
manage the information on your N64 Controller Pak. You may delete
information to create additional space on your Controller Pak. On the
Memory Management screen, highlight the file you want to delete and then
press the A Button. To exit this screen, press the B Button.

NOTE: Depending on the available pages on your Controller Pak, you may
save up to four games. Blast Corps uses a maximum of 56 pages of
information on your Controller Pak, 14 per game slot.

NOTE: Saved data may be erased if RESET is pressed, or if the Power is
turned OFF during screen transitions.

NOTE: If no Controller Pak is inserted when attempting to access the
Memory Management screen, you will be given the option to erase the data
on the internal memory chip.

Guess I'll give holding down start while turning on the power a try and see what happens.
 
Google search it. I had the same problem, but as I recall (it was some time ago) I found how to do it on gamefaqs.
 
Most N64 games you could hold the start button while turning the unit on or resetting it, and you should get a menu to deal with game pak and memory pak data.
 
Press the Start button when you turn on the Nintendo 64. An Game Erase Option Screen will appear.


I had to do the same thing with my 100% used copy.
 
This is a pretty fun game :)

And it does have battery save, as after I erased the data it went back to just having the first mission available. Makes going through the game a lot less confusing and more satisfying. (No real point to playing if everything is already opened up.)

Not sure if I'll get frustrated by the difficulty or not. Sideswiping with the dump truck might take a while to get the hang of.
 
This was a GREAT GAME! I bought it new for $20 in Spring of 1998. Loved it very much . . . I remember it being frustrating that they only gave you one save slot . . . so you couldn't go back and play over.

Still some pretty good gameplay . . . this should be remade for the Xbox like they're doing with Conker's Bad Fur!

I dunno, I'd like to see Rare come out with a few original titles for the Xbox, too. It's been a long time since they came over and so far only one game! Hopefully Kameo will deliver and not pull a Sudeki.
