Anybody own a Nintendo Wi-Fi USB adapter?

CAGiversary!
Seeing as how I don't have a Wireless router, does anyone have one? If so, is it worth the purchase?

I have one... and if you want to go online from home without all the hassle of a wireless router, then you really have no option.

So, whether it's worth it is up to you.

I could have gotten a router for $40 and used that for the DS but for me, it would be too much of a hassle of having a router just for the DS (our house is already wireless, I just use it for my dorm room).

I've got one, and I love it. My DS was having problems hooking up the router when I went back home, and this fixed it no problem.

I got one since it was the only way to keep my WPA secured wireless network while being able to go online with the DS. Haven't questioned the purchase once. Definately worth it.

My only complaint is that it's only compatible with Windows XP. Not usually a problem, but my stupid work computer is Windows 2000...so no Mario Kart at work. :(

I would get one, but Ill never be able to play online, as I dont have internet, there is no hotspots near, and the library wont let me.

If you don't have internet, how did you post on here?
buy.com/newegg.com have wifi usb adapters for around $15.
But will any of those work with the DS?

Yeah, I would assume if one did, it'd be mentioned all over the place (here and other sites...). Though I don't get out much, so...-_-

FYI, I just saw the official Nintendo DS Wireless Adapters at my local Best Buy. Yes, the official ones. They were $39.99. I was shocked to see them since I too thought they were only available from Nintendo.com. They're also available at the BB web site.

Though not as cheap as Nintendo.com (not sure what Nintendo charges for shipping), picking one up in-store has that instant gratification thing going for it. Regardless, it's nice to see it more widely available. It's good to have options.

these were advertised in this week's bb ad at $39.99, don't forget to use the 10 off 30 accessory coupon that is from the 360 launch which can be found under the video game deals section

Yea i got one, now i can play online. I dont own a router, i probably should've gotten one but, since my campus's T1 network uses VPN, i need a usb wi-fi connector. Not bad at best buy with the $10 off thing, its supposed to cost like $42.XX with shipping on nintendo.com

I forgot about the coupon. Thanks for the reminder.

Does this wi-fi connector only work with a DS? Would it work with a PSP? Also, it their any more info on the cheap nonofficial wi-fi connector on newegg?

90% sure its DS only. The Datel ones (makers of action replay max) have their own wi-fi dongles coming out, supposed to be compatible with DS and PSP together, about $10 less (aprox $30USD) than the official Nintendo ones. Frankly I bought the nintendo one since its the only one out. Its awesome though.

anyone know if this is instore elsewhere besides BB? Hopefully they'll spread to other retailers.
