Just curious if anybody did.. I loved Sea Change. Guerro seems a bit of a throwback, but it feels like a move forward both lyrically and musically at the same time. I want to be disappointed for it not being as good as Sea Change, yet can't because I enjoy Guerro. I got the limited edition box set , which I really suggest as it has 7 extra tracks and includes a dvd-audio disc that doubles as a kick ass DVD.
 
It's so goddamn good. It's hard to ever say if his albums are better or worse than previous ones, they are all so different. No two Beck albums sound even remotely similar.

But in my eyes, nothing beats his release on the excellent K Records, One Foot in the Grave. How can you do better than Beck singing with the lead singer of Beat Happening and Presidents of the USA?
 
I agree. I really hate how many critics are slamming it saying it sounds so much like Odelay, but they're idiots for saying so. Even Beck's worst would be a huge breath of fresh air in comparisson to the idiotic garbage that is sucked up by Pop-loving suckers everywhere. Did you get the L. Edtion Unoriginal? I really like what the Dust Brothers did with the album, almost gives it a Radiohead feel
 
No I didn't get the L. Edition, and I haven't heard the extra tracks on it, but I'll keep an eye open for it. If you really like the newest Beck album, (and if you don't already know) check out the band The Eels. They had a hit in the mid 90's but there newer stuff sounds a lot like Black Tambourine and the "heavier" tracks.
 
Yeah, I love this album. I picked up the limited edition on release day. I love it. they have it at best buy for $17 or so. It's definately worth the extra few bucks for the extra tracks and the DVD.

I hate the white box though. It looks cool but its so hard not to get smudges and stuff all over it. :cry: Its definately on of if not the best Beck album availabe. go get it.
 
THe album is good. HAve you heard the gameboy variations on four of the songs from the album. Holy shaq - fu it is awesome. If you have not, please go and get them. It is on the hell yes remix EP. Also on napster if you have that.
 
On my L.E., the photo pages seem to tear easily in the book. I turned one page and it came out of the seam a little. But it's great to see some Beck fans around here!!! I just jammed out to "Missing" (track 4) on my beer run to pick up some Killians at the store :)
 
I found the last beck cd kinda too mellow. I'm glad to hear this new cd is more upbeat like Odelay. I'm going to pick it up at Frys for 10, I hope they have the SE for cheap so I can get that.
 
I just picked this up last night. It's really great. Though I can see the comparison's to Odelay, it has a tottally different vibe. I picked up the Gameboy remixes on iTunes with my Pepsi caps. Definitely worth getting!
