Just wondering if anyone has bought UMDs yet, and if so, what?

Is there any advantage over the DVD version? (besides portability)

I wanted to buy House of Flying Daggers, but I think maybe it would make more sense to buy the DVD, capture/download the movie file on my PC and then put it on the memory stick (assuming it ever ships...)

Uh... the cuter small case?

I wont buy a umd movie unless I find it for like $2. $20-30... even $10 is too much for a featureless, chapterless version of a movie I could get at walmart on dvd for less and then rip onto a flash stick.

I got Resident Evil...There are NO advantages over DVD expect for being able to play them in the PSP. DVD's are already portable, and cheaper (Portable DVD Players can be had for $100 or so)

I have

Re: Apocalpyse
Once A time In Mexico
XXX
House of Flying Daggers
Hellboy

Those are movies I liked in the first place, its less that I have to worry about converting and then managing the space on the memory stick. For $12.99 except HOFD which was 17.99. When I'm converting all I convert is the movie anyway. So the fact that these umd have nothing else isnt an issue to me. Am I buying everything no, but the movies I enjoy at a certain pricve range I have no problem purchasing.

Spidey 2 (didnt come in bundle, had to go find)
Hellboy

$20 total for the two. I do not have $120 for a 1 gig stick, and thats the only size i will even consider getting at this time. I can play them while im setting up the new release wall, or my gf can watch it while im driving.

Kill Bill has a music video and a making of thing. Beuna Vista wants to put as much as possible on the disks, but movies like PotC are too long for that at the moment.

i got pirates of the caribbean today for my girlfriend and its pretty cool. i used some of my leftover credit at GR to get it. i think that the portability and ability to play on the psp are the only advantages. if it wasnt for my girlfriend then i probably wouldn't have got it

I like them for their portability. Also they are higher quality than rips to the memory stick. And I like to keep my memory stick free for cartoons and other stuff that probably won't ever come out on UMD. Only have Spider-Man 2 and House of Flying Daggers right now, but I plan to pick up Hero and maybe Kill Bill.
