Anyone else a bit let down by the 2007 (and now 2008) DS game lineup?

With the titles that everyone else has listed as well as Zelda and a online Worms 2 game, Duck Amok and Jam Sessions. I think its a very good year. Right now my DS$$$ > PS3 $$$

It's hard to follow up Clubhouse Games, New Super Mario Bros., Mario Kart, Elite Beat Agents, etc. But there have been a few games this year that are a bit different.

This year, the games that I've bought are The New York Times Crosswords, SimCity DS, Picross DS, and Brain Age 2. That's probably it for me for the year.

It's still a good year, but it would have been a stellar year with F-Zero DS and Mario Tennis DS(wifi).

Honestly its been a good year. Besides the already mentioned games, I am looking forward to Bleach DS, Phoenix Wright 3, Prof. Layton, and Zelda.

I picked up Brain Age2, Puzzle Quest, and Pokemon Pearl for DS this year.

I have Zelda on pre-order, and will probably get Ninja Gaiden DS too.

I'm glad there aren't too many games or I'd be even more broke than I am already. :p

Had to bump this rather than starting a new thread....

2008 has been just as bad for me. Only thing I've bought was Space Invaders, that I already shipped off on Goozex as I got sick of it fast.

I went to a couple stores while in California last week to see if I could find something to play on the flight back and had no luck. Seems like all the good games coming out are JRPGs which I have no interest in, or touch screen stuff like Trauma Center which I also have no interest in.

Only thing coming this year that I'm interested in is Castlevania. Hopefully that will turn out well. As from above Zelda: PH was all I was looking forward to around this time last year and I ended up hating that (though I forced myself to finish it).

So the DS is just getting used occasional for some Suduko, Planet Puzzle League and Picross. I'm not going to sell my DS as it's not worth it, but I definitely wouldn't replace it if it broke. It's just disappointing as I played it so much from late 2005 through 2006.

I'm interested in the Square RPGs, despite that they're either ports or remakes, but apart from those, I think the only thing I'm interested in for the rest of the year is Castlevania, so yeah, I'm pretty much in the same boat.

IDK, my wife took over my DS (damn you cake mania 1 & 2). So it's the only thing I have played less than my PS3. However, he GTA chinatown wars that Wombat scooped the video game press on this week sounds interesting though.

with Apollo Justice, Etrain Odyseey, FFIV, FF Tactics A2, The World Ends With You it has been a great year so far

Again, if you like JRPGs....which I don't. Also don't like text adventure games.

I think that's my main problem, I really don't like much of anything coming out of Japan these days. There's some good articles in the newest EGM about the decline of japanese games, how developers there are stuck in 1998 etc.

It pains me to say that as I used to be totally about Japanese games and bash western games, but I grew sick of gaming over the last generation or two and had nearly quit and it's 100% (with a few exceptions) western games on the 360 that have rejuvenated my interest in gaming over the past few months (since last fall).

But that's a whole 'nother can of worms, and I made a thread for that topic in general gaming:

Dissapointed in the US releases, yes. I have over 50+ games that I like playing in the past 2 years but they're mostly the Jap editions that will probably never be licensed here. Try going online and buy either Jump Superstars or Jump Ultimate for your DS.

Nope not disappointed at all, keeps my wallet happy and my budget in check.

Plus it gives me a chance to work on "zeh baklog"

I've gotten tons of good DS games this year to be disappointed. And the future lineup for the rest of the year looks amazing as well.

You should check out Contra 4 (technically from last year but who's counting?). Best, or at least most challenging, 2D action game on the system. It was actually developed in the US, too, fwiw.

Never liked the series--not big on hard, action games. Like I said, it's not that there isn't any good games on the DS the past couple of years. Just not much in genres I like.
