I got bit by the collecting bug and it is very hard to resist. I have to resist good games for cheap and those that are rare. I've been picking up some games mostly because they're becoming rare or I think they might be rare. I paid full price for SMT: N and the guide. That's a nice guide. I just picked up Digital Devil Saga. I've only seen it in EB and GS in Fort Wayne, so I thought it would best to get it now. I picked up Valkyrie Profile for $30 from a local game store. From what I've played so far, I think it's awesome and kind of hard to find.

I like visiting http://tinyurl.com/ywgzk. It is a very good site for collectors and gamers in general. This how they descripe the site:

Digital Press Online is dedicated to the "Pac-rats" among video gamers... short attention spans, library-sized collections, consoles precariously wired in spider-web fashion... Sound like you? Check around - we cover just about everything "retro" including Atari, Intellivision, ColecoVision, Vectrex, Odyssey, Nintendo, and Sega Master System as well as all of the most recent consoles.

Check out their game room section.

Not really. I found most "collectors" items do not end up becoming collectors items at all (see Halo 2 CE). If there is something I really want, I will usually just go out and get it but shop around first. Most of the time, patience will pay off. I remember 2 summers ago the PSOne had some rare Final Fantasy titles going for quite a bit. It tempted me alot to complete my collection, but sure enough the prices fell to the GH range.

Most recently, look at the Gamecube drops for Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3.

Hmm... not really... 201 games, 225 anime DVDs, and I've actually played/watched about half-ish. It's pretty easy to turn down things that 'may' be rare or overpriced collector's items when you've still got so much to go through as it is. :D

I don't see how this is a struggle. For example I got Disgaea: Hour of Darkness for $44 and SMT for $40 at Fry'sthe week it came out and those still seems like good price. On the other hand I also paid $50 for La Pucelle: Tactics and Phantom Brave (still unopened) but those are good games to add to a collection.
