I thought it started a bit slow but was well done once you got over the fact that it was a patchwork quilt of stolen ideas. The the people that were bored, i'd be interested in knowing their opinions of the games that it borrowed from (Zelda, GoW, & DMC).
I played through the demo, didn't see any DMC in it, but saw some PoP instead.
Zelda - Drags on too long. If the dungeons were smaller, and the game pace was faster, I would like them more. As is, I feel Zelda games are twice as long as they need to be, and I get bored of playing them.
GoW - An awesome mix of action and simple puzzle solving. Great style, great pacing, great combat. Some of my favorite games.
PoP - Referring to SoT, I love love love the level based platforming puzzles. I dislike the combat. Every instance of combat was an annoying roadblock standing between me and more wonderful puzzle platforming.
Darksiders - The Zelda-like dungeons, exploration, and items were right on target. The Zelda parts were every bit as fun as in Twilight Princess, and dragged on as much. The GoW-like combat was too slow, and too limited. I felt like I was swinging too slow, that the double jump was too short, and it got slightly boring (though way better than Dante's Inferno). The PoP-like platforming wasn't as good. I felt that the margin of error was not loose enough, while the character was not designed for precise timing. But the PoP parts were minor, while most of the game was Zelda and GoW like.
I love that the demo was a full level, and took an hour or so to play through. Definitely one of the best demos I've ever seen. The game itself just didn't appeal to me, regardless of how excited I was to play it. It perfectly captured the Zelda parts, which sadly included the too long dungeons and too slow exploration, but failed to capture the action and excitement of GoW.
