Anyone get a $5 Amazon Magazine Credit?

That's weird. I've never bought a magazine from Amazon and I got this credit. I checked my orders and magazine subscriptions to make sure someone else didn't either, and nothing. I mean, I'm not complaining about getting Halo Reach on release day for $58, but I'm just confused. :X

Does it just apply as a coupon to your next checkout then? Because when I entered it, it did not add to my gift card balance. Well, it did for a minute, then it went back to the old balance. That was strange.

Anyway, I'm moving this to Deal Discussion because, well, it really isn't a deal ;).
 
LOL wow that's pretty amazing how many people are in the same boat. Got my 2 issues of NP too, and nothing for OXM. Did the whole "haven't received past due date" thing on the sub manager. Something isn't communicating right in the subscription department. Anyway, no e-mail code for me yet either, hopefully I'll get something soon.
 
FWIW, I had ordered all 3 mags (NP, PSM, OXM) a year ago and then renewed when they were $5 recently. Maybe it required a purchase previous to the recent sale to get the $5 promo code?

And yeah, I just verified that the $5 discount applies on checkout (in a different way than my regular gift card/trade-in credit applies).
 
How do i use this coupon? I followed the link on the email and applied the code and it shows that i have $5 promotion but when i check out it doesn't deduct the $5 from the total..
