The Gamestop and EB stock scanners are showing AWDS as completely out of stock in a 200-mile radius of me. Will it not be in stores today? Has anyone seen a physical copy yet, and if so, where?

I have it sitting on the chair behind me still wrapped in its Best Buy bag. So, yes it is out (apparently not everywhere though) and I haven't had a chance to mess with it until I get home tonight.

I saw plenty at the EB near me. I picked up Nintendogs and it was right there behind the counter. I almost wanted to cancel on of my reserves and get that but I didn't want the guy to get all uppity. SO I may go back tommorrow.

I just put up the "We will be back momentarily" sign at work, ran across the street to EB, and picked up mine. The guy said they only got enough shipped today for preorders, though.

Now I gotta wait 3 more hours until I get home to play. *sigh* At least I can look at the packaging...

Uh, why did you buy 2 copies of "NintenDOGs?"

Lots of people on the site have. Hell, Jake bought all 3 versions.

More to the point: what business of it is your's?

When I went to pick up my Nintendogs Dachshund (Of which all that were left were 4 preorders, two Dachshund and two lab) EBGames had about 2 or 3 copies of Advance Wars. So yes, it is out.

Thanks for clearing that up! I asked why he bought two copies of the same game. I didn't ask if anybody else on this site bought two copies of Nintendogs. Nor did I ask how many copies of Nintendogs some guy named Jake bought. Your reply contained no insight whatsoever in relation to my question about why someone would pay $30 for an extra copy of a video game.

And by the way, it's my business because it's posted on a public internet forum that I choose to read. How about you at least demonstrate an understanding of elementary school reading comprehension and punctuation before trying to start shit next time?

No prob. I'm failing to see where I didn't read what you said correctly, or didn't use proper punctuation/grammar. Granted, I didn't answer your question; but, I was trying to point out that many people on the site have bought multiple copies, and if you check the other Nintendogs threads, you'll most assuredly see why. Most have said they did so because: it was a gift for someone; they and their significant other both have DS's, and this speeds up the breed-unlocking process; it's their effing money and they can do with it as they please, etcetera etcetera.

Oh, and Jake is JakeT, one of the moderators for the site who is infamous for buying damn near everything that releases. Have an awesome day.

I didn't pre-order Nintendogs..so..I didn't get it..because it's sold out..tear..:(

You replied to my question with information that was pretty much irrelevant, which gave the impression that you were having trouble understanding my question.

This is where you used incorrect punctuation:
what business of it is your's?
(It should be "yours.")

Why are people getting so touchy about this on here? If someone asked me why I was buying both versions of a Pokemon game, I'd just tell them why. I don't see what's so offensive about that question.

Picked it up from CC earlier and had it pricematched it to Fry's ad. Ended up spending $24 for it before tax. But I haven't had to chance to open it yet, since im playing nintendogs.

Wow, you used a colon, three semicolons, and several commas and periods. I daresay, you showed him a thing or two about grammar!

I'm considering Advance Wars. Can you save in the middle of battles and stuff?
I'm considering Advance Wars. Can you save in the middle of battles and stuff?
Yup. At the end of any turn. This goes for Campaign, War Room, multiplayer games, etc.

The EB I go to got a whopping TWO copies of Advance Wars, and didn't get enough Nintendogs to satisfy all the preorders, so I had to go to TRU for Advance Wars, and I have no Nintendogs to speak of.

I just picked up AW today with one of my Dogs preorders. I just told the clerk I got it as a gift yesterday so I didn't want to pick up my preorder. He was real cool about it so I exchanged it for AW after handing over $5 and change.

Sucks that I have to go return it now though. I realized on my way back to work the case was pierced through...

I just got it today. For some reason, at the Target I got it in, it was put where Bomberman was supposed to be, and was marked 29.99. I wasn't gonna bring this up, but when the guy rung me up, he saw that it was coming up 34.99, and decided to override it to 29.99. So far I love this game. The Combat mode alone makes it worth the price compared to AW2. That mode is so freaking fun.

So far it is awesome... they really used the dual screens very well, imo. I definately think it's a huge improvement over AW 1 and 2.

Combat is crap on a crap cracker. It's so decidedly un-Advanced-Wars-ish and has such amateurish production values that it makes me wonder why the hell they even bothered to include it.

That's what makes it so interesting, if you ask me. The fact that it's so different from normal AW, it just seems a fun change of pace.

well I am new to the series...

The question I have is besides the % that it shows before you actually attack... is there a way to find out how much damge you will deal to a certain enemy before getting within firing range?

All I see is the symbol of the enemy vehicle and either a circle or traingle... I understand its supposed to be simple but am i missing something or do you just get familiar with it in time?

Does this question even make sense? Hopefully so.

i think that the circle means that it does good damage to that type of vehicle, while triangle is meh damage.
i think that the circle means that it does good damage to that type of vehicle, while triangle is meh damage.
yeah your right I just didnt know if it was based on say a 10 point system.. I mean the Neo Tank has a circle where the Medium Tank also has a circle... The Neo Tank will do more damage so this cicrle isnt deep enough.

how is it compared to AW 2 on GBA any difference in graphics? I havn't played any of the GBA games and wonder if the strategy takes forever to plan out before going into battle?

well you can plan it out. I so far have just started and went for it and have done really well.

I am sure I have much harder parts coming up.

advance wars strategy seems really well balanced, but certain COs were way to easy to use in AW2. Colin was far and away the easiest to use, not only because of the speed you could crank out units, but if you got locked into a long battle, his Power of Money CO special absolutely destroys your opponent.

still an amazing strategy game. The most fun I've had playing a strategy game.

Advance Wars games are all great IMO. Until there's a portable blizzard rts or Heroes of Might and Magic there is nothing that can beat Advance Wars games(if your a strategy whore like me).
