Damn, DeathDealer brought back a thread from...the dead. You either searched or read a whole lot of pages.
It's $15 at Toys R Us after the $5 gift certificate, if you don't already know.
Damn, I was hoping some people would play it on wi-fi (I haven't purchased or played it, but I wanted it kind of for that reason).
The WiFi aspect of Tony Hawk DS was never really popular. I think part of the reason is because popular modes like graffiti aren't there. Plus, why play this version online if you have a console version to?
Anyway, why did they launch it at $40 anyway?
Because third party games can suggest whatever MSRP they want. Unfortunately it didn't sell well, and additionally it's a game that gets continuous sequels which is why it's so cheap. But there's a sequel coming out so we'll see how good that is.
Personally I thought Tony Hawk DS played very well (the manuals don't come out as easily as the console versions though when doing combos) and they took out dumb movies like running. However, I find it difficult sometimes to see when rails to grind. A lot of things look flat but you can actually grind, or sometimes you're grinding on something so thin it's hard to see when the rail actually ends.
Other than that, it's very fluid, looks nice and plays very well.
