Anyone have experience with using Gamefly's rent and keep service?

CAGiversary!
I noticed they have a game that I was looking to purchase a while back (prices elsewhere in the stores/online are insane) for a decent price, but only under the "rent and keep" service. I don't want to use the service at the moment ($ issues) but I have a feeling this game will go out of stock relatively soon.

Would there be any issues using the 1/2-month trial (found links online for both of them), renting the game then paying to keep it and then cancel the account before the trial expires? Haven't used any online rental services before so I'm not 100% on how something like this would work.

Interesting that you can't purchase it but you can rent and keep it, I've never seen that before.

Your plan to use a trial to rent it and then buy it will work just fine.

It's a rarer game that's out of print, so I'm guessing that's part of the reason (as they'd likely get swarmed with people trying to buy up the last remaining copies and upsell them on Amazon and the like).

It's also possible that the info on the site could be incorrect and that copy is already out and may never be coming back. But since there are free rental options available for Gamefly your risk is low in trying.

I sent an email to them asking about it so hopefully I'll get a response.

(Gonna try a few local gaming shops to see if they have any left first, though.)
