Edit: I tried some newer coupon codes and they work.
From what I can tell, I think the previous coupon codes I was trying to use were "used up". But they dont remove those coupon codes from the system so there's no instant way to tell that you used those up when you try to re-use them by accident again. I decided to do some housekeeping in my email client and set up a small marking system to let me know which emails have coupon codes that are used. Thanks for reading anyway.
