I'm looking for a Korean version of My Sassy Girl somewhere, preferably. I can find Hong Kong versions, and I guess those will work for DVD region specificity, but I'd like the original (aka Korean) version. It's obviously a different title, one that I can't spell out due to lack of korean text on this computer. If anyone has any leads, let me know, thanks!

Does anyone know how many manwha was made for My Sassy Girl? I was getting it from ComicsOne, but they went out of business before #6 was released, and I don't think Dr. Master has any plans for it. I really loved the series and I did not know there was movies for it. I'll have to check it out.

I got mine off ebay since I really wanted a copy... I was quite surprised that I got a legit copy.
 
I was going to suggest Yesasia but it seems they are out of stock. You may want to check out asiandb.com, I've never ordered from them before but they seem to have the DVD in stock for a steep price. The last place I would look is on ebay, it's full of bootlegged copies. I purchased 1 korean movie a few years back when I was an ebay noob only to be disappointed :( . Anyway good luck on finding a copy.

I've used pokerindustries.com several times as well. Nothing but positive experiences. As a bonus, I believe everything is 50% of right now , using code LUCKY13.
 
I've never bought a VCD before, do I need a specific player for it or will a DVD player/PS3 work? Sorry if it's a dumb question, I just really have never dealt with them before
 
its a great movie. i bought one from ebay but its HK version. Im sure its bootleg. there are a few scenes that are unwatchable. it kept on skipping. the seller told me to send it back to him and he'll replace it. its too much of a hassle and hes from HK. i dont wanna pay more just to ship it and get another bootleg. He told me another option is to buy one of his other dvds and he'll ship it to me. I told him that its expensive and they look bootleg to me.

most DVD player should work. Dunno about PS3. You can also play it on a PC
 
I bought a two disc DVD set of the movie from Yesasia awhile back. But the subtitles that were included with the movie had the name of each character before every line of dialogue, which made reading the subtitles pretty much unbearable. So I've been looking for a legit copy of the movie on DVD with regular subtitles.

I was actually hoping they would release the movie on DVD here in the U.S. to coincide with the American remake of the movie (a travesty, I know), but that's highly doubtful since the remake is headed straight to DVD now.

ya most dvd players and of course your PC will play vcds. i just put the my sassy girl vcd into my PS3 and it doesn't work. it shows the loading swirl in the top right corner but when it stops it doesn't even show the disc icon in the Video XMB.
 
Most Ebay version are bootlegs (Region 0), they may have bad video quality or skip or
only a single layer (D5 4.3Gb) DVD without extras.. Mostly imports from China.

For authentic, buy from YesAsia.com or Play-Asia.com. They carry the authentic imports from HongKong,
Taiwan, Korea. You must have a region free player as they are Region 3 encoded.
There is also a Japan version (Region 2) - most expensive.

Don't buy VCD version. You'll regret it because the subtitles are burned in, not removable.
The video quality (only MPEG1) will look very bad on your big screen TV.

If you like this movie, go for the Director's Cut DVD version (137 mins).

However, since it is an amazing movie...

It's a romantic comedy. Except that it is awesome. Smart and awesome and funny. Every guy should watch it with their GF because she is going to melt in their hands when they watch it.

I, too, need to get a legit copy of this someday. The supposed American remake will be a travesty that's going to shit all over the absolute perfection of this Korean masterpiece, and will probably star hack bastards like Ben Stiller or Asston Kuntcher.
 
Well I just bought it on hkflix, and hoping that they'll actually get in more copies like they say it will. Otherwise, it'll be crappy bootlegs for me!
 
ARgh... I've gone through two chinese copies of My Sassy Girl so far. One DVD5 copy with no extras, and one DVD9 Director's Cut copy with bonus disc and BOTH of them have skipping and stuttering problems on my PS3 and when I try to play it on my computer with VLC.

However, when I play it with Windows Media Center, it plays perfectly. What's up with that?
 
YesAsia is good, I've also ordered from DVDfromKorea.com before (a little pricier depending on title.)

If folks are still looking for the original genuine Korean DVD (region 3) release and can wait a few weeks...
I'll be going on a trip to Korea soon and may be able to pick up a few copies.

HKflix never pulled through for me, so I cancelled the order and used dvdfromkorea. Thanks for the heads up!
Also, translating Korean into roman characters is awful at best. It's the most frustrating part of ever writing to a Korean without using a computer with Korean input. For posterity's sake: 엽기적인 그녀
