Do they ship quickly and provide good customer service?

I want to order some games there but don't want to deal with a shaddy place that says it has games in stock, but doesn't really - etc.

I ordered 3 items from them a few years ago. I got 2 of them within a week, the 3rd item never arrived. The packing slip said the 3rd game was backordered. A few weeks later I get my credit card statement and I was charged for all 3 items! I contacted them and they claim it had just come back in stock and shipped it out and I got the game, almost a month later!

That seems to be a common problem and I also have heard people ordered new games from them and got opened (possibly used) games as well.

I'll never order from them again

Stay away from ToysnJoy.

Shipping is slow and I believe they like screwing people over. They'll usually send half of the stuff you order, which is quite common among people who have ordered from them.

They love giving out lies to your questions too.

I ordered (and was billed for) three games from them about a year and a half ago, and only one of them was in the box. The box was already opened when I got it and I lived in a bad neighborhood at the time, so the games were probably stolen. However, they didn't respond to my e-mails checking whether all of the items were shipped.

I won't order from them any more because their name on the return address probably attracts curious thieves.

bought a XBX Hori stick from them - came PRE-PLAYED but sold as *new* - week long hassles to get even fractional discount/refund. Made up lies on the phone referring to mgr who was out of town etc. - B WARNED !!!

waaay back, when my ex was living there, she used to get me some really obscure games and great anime stuff from them.

i've been in their store in honolulu. man, that place is small. i miss it!

Actually, the Honolulu store got a giant make-over. Its huge and packs all types of stuff now. Aside from being slightly more expensive, it is a great B&M store.

As for online ordering, I haven't heard many good things. The website itself is total hell, so yeah. May want to think twice before ordering - or maybe get someone to go to the actual store for you instead.

Also, just because they have it on their site does not mean they actually have it. I usually use the site to check for new stuff in stock, then call or go down to the store and ask for it, more likely than not, they'll tell me it hasn't come in yet or that they have no idea what I'm talking about. They also don't carry a large stock of any one item (unless it happens to be really popular...) - so rare and speciality items are in limited quantity and usually sell out quickly.

I am beginning to notice that this thread is becoming 'watered down' by some kind comments towards TOYS`N`JOYS which anyone obviously is entitled to. So I would like to add again that these motherfucking cocksuckers fucking suck and ripped me the fuck off and hadn't it been for me involving the dispute resolution team from American Express I would mostly still run after my money - fuck you very much Toys`N`Joys - the power of the internet and this forum will hopefully have SOME SMALL impact on your iminent demise !

Yeah, be really careful. I've bought a few things off them, most have gone fine (Sega Saturn twinsticks, some DC imports on clearance, a couple import GBA games, a Gamecube broadband adapter) but I ordered a "new" Nintendo N64 expansion pack from them a year or two back, and got a generic third party, obviously used, expansion pack. It may have worked, may have not, but I spent $20 (with shipping) for something I could've gotten off Ebay for like $5 (I wanted a geniune Nintendo one, and that was the only one I could find at the time). I complained to them, they said to ship it back (at my expense, of course), and they'd refund my money.

I shipped it back, and got no refund. They kept saying they were getting to it, that it may take 2-3 credit card billing cycles to show up, etc, etc. I finally had to contact American Express. The refund showed up REALLY fast at that point after Amex got involved. ;) Had I not shipped it back with a tracking number I'm not sure I would've even gotten it.

I ONLY order from them when it's something I absolutely cannot find anywhere else and I have a reasonable expectation it is what they claim it is.

Basically-- if they get your order right the first time, you're probably OK. If you need customer service, you are screwed.

I've ordered from them a few tiems, the first couple of times they didn't even have what I ordered in stock. The last time I ordered a few game OSTs and they were all bootleg. I wouldn't mess with them again...

I've ordered a couple times. Apparently, they were out of stock both times because I never heard anything from them after I ordered. I've heard nothing but bad things though.
