I know its an odd request... but for some reason I can't find my network startup disc (that came with the slimline PS2)... and was wondering if anyone would be nice enough to give/sell me theirs (if they have absolutely positively no use for it). I use paypal... so we can work something out. Send me a PM if you're interested in helping me out. Thanks for your time.

correct me if im wrong but i dont believe you need the starup disc. all you need is a game that was made post 2005 that has online. it has the startup software built into. when you goto online mode, it prompts you and then the network install starts up.

Hmmm... really? Well I tried using one game and it told me to configure the network settings by using the startup disc (I've never had an interest in playing PS2 online until now). I didn't actually try the other games I have that have online capacity. I'll give those games a shot and then I'll get back to you.

Well I'll be damned. It did work! Hmmm but does this mean if I had to change my network settings... I would have to pop in that same game just to access my settings? Well I guess its better than nothing. Thanks for the info guys.

Although I still think it would be nice if I could have that disc just in case. So if anyone out there doesn't need their startup disc let me know so we can work out a deal. Thanks.

Edit: I have a slimline PS2... so I am not sure if a fat PS2's disc would work. Well I wouldn't mind trying though so send me an offer. I doubt the disc is worth anything if it is easy to access settings through other games... but alas... if anyone doesn't need their disc at all just send me an offer.

Got any OPM or OXM demo discs that you could trade for it?

I still go the Online 5.0 disc that came with my 75001 model.
