Anyone pick up a MICRO yet? (ANY SALES YET??)

Why the fuck would I waste a hundred bucks on a GBA SP clone that has a smaller screen and is almost 20 bucks more than the SP New.

hmm... I thought it was today but I could be wrong... I'm not planning on buying one but I have to admit that it looks really cool - just too pricy.

I don't think that was the question the OP asked.
and what is dot pitch?

also, how could it have a smaller screen? wouldn't that mess the display up or something
Dot pitch is the distance between pixels and that is what results in the smaller screen size and a sharper image.

Agreed. If it hits $50, I'll be sold.

Anyone actually see this instores yet? Some are mistaking the display boxes for the actual system (Game Rush for example). I heard the NYC Nintendo Stores has them...but no where else. I even resorted to GameFaqs to see if anyone had foun one, and they all heard various release dates from stores.

if i come into some disposable income within the next 10 years, I'll pick one up.

I was in Best Buy and Target today and didn't see a thing.

A HC gamer would have one to sneak and play it at work/school though ;P
Hard to balance the two: CAG and hard core gamer.
I want to get one but not at 100. Like everyone else I'll wait for some sale or special deal.

I have to pick one up eventually. It is quality Nintendo stuff.

Just don't have the cash to pick this one up, even though I always gets systems at launch. This, the Sega CD, and the Xbox are the only systems that I haven't bought at launch.
Sigh, even the packaging is beautiful.

Why must you hate me, Nintendo :( and love my monies....
Pics?
Odd. Nintendo usually has their Hardware in stores days/week before the 'official' launch (DS/GBA SP for example)
I got my GBA 2 days before the release and $10 off from CC (they actually lowered the retail price by $10, it wasn't a sale).

Maybe CC will have the MICRO for $10 off too?

My heart says yes, but my wallet says no. If I can score a deal on one, I'll pick up the Micro, but in the meantime I'll just do my GBA gaming on my DS.

i don't even post here, but i just wanted to see if anyone else had gotten it.

most online sites had it listed as releasing on the 19th (monday!), but gamestop changed their's like the day before and best buy now says late september.

nintendo is a penis, and they are jaming themselves into me. i hate it.

Hi! Just wanted to let everyone know that it has shipped to stores. I work at a Wal-Mart in Olympia, WA and we recieved our shipoment about 10 this morning. We opened one up and put in a game and the thing is amazing. The screen is very bright and very sharp. What surprises me the most is how light the unit is. It feels like you are holding nothing. As far as the launch date, I think that Nintendo decided to do a soft launch of the unit. The box that they came in did not have a date on it and said rush to sales floor.

At first I didn't want it, but now I do, it is just too cute. Maybe when the price drops.....

Will the gods at Nintendo please see everyone's thoughts of lowering prices to get more sales?

Hopefully.

Honestly, I kind of over the GBA. I have a DS, GBA sp, a new GBA sp backlight, and a Gameboy Player. Even if the Micro was $39.99 I have no disire to purchase it. It would have been nice if they included 256mb mp3 player with it for the $99.

Exactly - at $80 I was hoping for some more functionality - If I get any GBA, I'll be the new one w/ the better lighting now.
ziploc bag
yup that be the one!

No , I don't know why I put ipod in there. But I saw a pic on ign, and it was real basic, like a clear bubble packaging showing the micro and the faceplates.

Despite everyone's protests, I still hold that the Micro is priced correctly, and is a more desirable system than the SP, despite how wonderful the SP is. Every review of it has been positive, and the only reason everyone on the forums doesn't agree is because they haven't played it and they are happy with their SP (which is a very quality product). But play with a micro, and I'm sure you'll realize its attraction. The people who got to try it at E3 also gave similar comments.

This now also has empirical evidence, as the micro sold 170k units the first week it was released in Japan. Anyways, please quit bashing it. There will be good deals on it for us CAGs, I'm just saying the $99.99 MSRP pricepoint is a good decision, and it will sell (not flop like some people are saying).

I don't agree at all. I was very interested in a Micro, I was in stores looking for them on the 19th. I really wanted one, until the new SP came out. The only reason I wanted the Micro is for the screen, but I was concerned about it's size.
Now I have the best of both world's & saved 20 bones with my new Graphite SP.
Nintendo really screwed themselves by not releasing the Micro first. I would have liked to see the sales numbers in Japan if consumer's there had there choice of 2 backlit Gameboy's.

Hmm....I guess Ill have to strart calling some stores later this afternoon.

TRU got them in today also. I was at the store at the same time as the Nintendo rep. Got some free swag. Anyway, she let me play a micro for a minuit. It is pretty cool, but I still like the new SP better.

Picked up a silver micro today at TRU....They said the black ones don't come in till wednesday.... Anyway, this is a REALLY nice handheld. Screen looks pretty and the system feels good. I'll post pics later.

Ok, I'm confused. When I go to the EB page for the black micro, the unit pictured looks silver.

http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/258797.asp

So did the silver one come with the flame and camo faceplates, or that gay ladybug one?

The SILVER one has a Silver casing and a black faceplate (along with the blue and ladybug one). The BLACK one has a BLACK casing with a SILVER faceplate (along with a flame/camo faceplate). Over this thing ROCKS
