Anyone pick up a MICRO yet? (ANY SALES YET??)

OK, now that it is out does anyone know of any sales or anything? I'd grab one for $80 but no more... yeah, it used to be $40, then $50, now $80 - damn you Nintendo!
A gamestop just opened nearby, on black friday I am going to trade in all of my shit games for this.
Not a bad idea... I wonder if I can scrape together enough shit games... I always think that I am getting ripped off when I get offered like $3 for some game that I am finished playing but I might have paid $20 for way back when. I end up keeping it case of the off chance I want to play it again (which is probably never). I'd be better off just taking the $3. Like Mario Sunshine - I played through it once and it was OK but for some reason I feel the need to hang on to it even though I have a ton of unplayed games that I'll nevewr even get to let alone go back and beat it again.

Waiting for Classic Edition or classic faceplate.

Those who have one, does the faceplate cover the screen to prevent scratches and such?

That looks kind of awesome

Just a word of warning. I heard the backlit SPs have a slower refresh rate, so some ghosting occurs. Definitely a reason to consider a Micro despite the higher price.

hmmm, I would like to see some pics of the screen up against the new sp, I might have to buy one of these micros just because its so small

How do you tell if there is ghosting? Does it distract? Doesn't the Micro have the same screen basically as the SP? Why would one ghost and not the other?
Hi! Just wanted to let everyone know that it has shipped to stores. I work at a Wal-Mart in Olympia, WA and we recieved our shipoment about 10 this morning. We opened one up and put in a game and the thing is amazing. The screen is very bright and very sharp. What surprises me the most is how light the unit is. It feels like you are holding nothing. As far as the launch date, I think that Nintendo decided to do a soft launch of the unit. The box that they came in did not have a date on it and said rush to sales floor.

At first I didn't want it, but now I do, it is just too cute. Maybe when the price drops.....
So you opened one at Wal-mart? Are you going to sell it at a discount? I wouldn't pay full price for your used Gameboy.

Think of an older cell-phone and the end of the snakes tail while playing Snake. Its a pixel being slow, normally with darker colors. PSP has the same problem.

Damn I never noticed it on my PSP...

The you haven't played NBA street on PSP, have you?

posted this in another thread, but I wasn't sure which one to put it in...

question for anyone that knows about the Micro or has one...

what is the connectivity for the Micro. can it link up to Advance's and SP's? or just other Micros?

So I went today, the owner said they sold out and would get some more tomorrow. I just paided it off $140.71 with tax and he just said to come by tomorrow after 11am and I can pick it up.

$140.71? Was it a bundle?

Well, nothing at the moment. It uses a new (Oh Nintendo!) connector cable for both Linking up and charging. I have yet to see the link cables in stores(Or anything Micro, not even face plates), so it may be a few weeks before you can. Nintendo.com possibly may carry them.

Nope. $129.99 for the micro without tax. I live in LA so sales tax is 8.25% So that kicked on the extra 11 bucks. I should also add it's the famicom micro. All the prices online are the same for the famicom micro online, this way I don't pay for S&H.

well I was just wondering if Nintendo has plans for the Micro in the near future to have the ability to link up to other SP's or Advances. there are a handful of games I'd like to play against my friends on their SP's but with all the mixed reviews on the backlit SP (the ghosting issues), I was thinking of just getting a Micro, but if it can only link up with other Micros, then I'm not sure.

Oh...I was about to say, that shit is $99.99MSRP. Famicom Micro? Carry on.

I told myself I would only get the famicom micro. Or I wouldn't get one at all.

Don't blame you. Happy!Mario!

If only Nintendo could design a console as slick looking as the Micro, maybe people over 12 would actually buy it. Oh wait, they can (Revolution).

bought the black micro today on impulse...

beautiful screen, and the control pad works REALLY good with fighting games (SF2 turbo to be exact)

can't wait to play even more ;)

If you can please give updated impressions. I want one but I'm not sure about the small screen. I hope it would be ok for long play sessions.

i can tell you that the screen is perfect... no strain on the eyes at all... everything looks very crisp and clean... sharp visuals
I'm so tempted but for $150 more I can get a pretty sweet iPod nano...
Make that $170 more, because you're going to want some protection for that scratcherific Nano case ($20 price based on that invisibleSHIELD clear case).

I spent the last 45 minutes - an hour playing castlevania AOS

the game looks better than ever on the micros screen! no strain on the eyes, cramping of fingers etc... just awesome gaming all the way through! I decided to take some pictures for you guys wondering how small is small?

hey thanks for the update and pictures. If no eye strain for the small screen than I think i'm getting a MICRO after all...
I just stopped by BB and saw some micros there ... they really aren't that small. I was expecting more (or rather less).
Although I've yet to see one... compared to all of the handhelds we have had up until this point it looks pretty small. I can't imagine even being able to play something smaller. Was it bulky?

Got back from the store with my Famicom micro. The box has an awesome mario theme to it. Inside of it it has the castle fights from Mario 1. The case holding the micro has mario jumping over one of Bowser's fireballs. Lift that and you have Mario and Peach with writing "THANK YOU FOR SELECTING THE FAMICOM VERSION!"

The famicom micro itself is aweomse, maroon color just like the controller for the famicom. cool little pouch but mine didn't come with the item to take off the faceplate, then again I dont even know if you could take off the faceplate on this version. Overall a good $140 spent on it. At first I wasn't going to open it, just keep it as a collectors item. Then I thought about it and said f' it. I am never going to sell it.

I don't know, it's small but didn't seem small enough. It's about the size of my cell phone.

Ok, I got a Micro today. So now I have a SP, DS, SP2, & I Micro. I know it's stupid but at least one of these is gonna go. Anyway, I have to say that I am VERY dissapointed in the volume of the Micro. It's a cool portable, & I know I can use the headphone jack, but the volume of my SP's blow it away. Maybe it's because it wasn't fully charged. I'll let you know.
As of now, I prefer my SP2. I feel like the color's are richer on the SP2 screen also.

has anyone's EB got these in yet? TRU has had them in for a while, but when I called EB today they said they wouldn't be getting them in until tomorrow. I would get it at TRU, but I have 100+ in credit at EB.

just picked mine up about 2 hours ago. the EB closest to me was having real delays in getting the system shipped to them. since I had a lot of EB credit to use, it was my only choice to get it through them. they said they would get them in Tuesday, but didn't, the same with today, but then they told me they probably wouldn't get it until the weekend. drove about 20 miles north to a stand-alone EB store, and bought one there.

played about an hour so far of Castlevania: AOS on the Micro, and I really like it so far. my only complaint is with the L/R buttons on the shoulders of the Micro. you have to press the buttons near the center for them to work, I tried pressing them near the sides and nothing happened. other than that it is a fine system, and I was really surprised in the clearity of the screen. it looks great. also the faceplates are really easy to pop in and out. though you have to be really careful not to get dust and dirt underneath it.

I can't wait until Nintendo releases the micro/micro cable, and the micro/gba/sp link cable. :)

Itd be nice if they put out something that adapts the micro to use a GBA-GC link cable. I could sure use the extra controller for Four Swords
