Anyone played Metal Slug 3 or 4+5 (if u h8 wanna sell me yours =D?)

I have the one for GBA and it's so damn good, should I go for the more expensive 4+5 or go for the cheaper 3??

I have Metal Slug 3 and I think it's one of the harder games I've played -- that being a good thing, of course.
 
the number of continues should not even be a factor.
MS3 is made by the orginal team and is considered to be the best in the series.
MS4+5 are made by a different team. Most considered MS4 to be the worst in the series.
 
Personally, I enjoyed the hell out of 4 and 5. The whole concept of an arcade port is to be able to play it all you want, not have an hour long game it takes you six months to beat. No one is forcing you to use the continues...

I second this.....but I would go a step further. MS3 is the last true MS. Anything made after that is just using the name....not from the true SNK Neo Geo era, a Playmore product. Don't support Playmore as they are simply running the SNK franchises into the ground.
 
I haven't played 4 & 5, but I think you'd enjoy any of them pretty well. They're all such good side-scrollers. Although, I don't have 3 neither. I'm satisfied with 1 and 2 on my NGPC.
 
Even if you have unlimited continues, you don't need to use them. Try to aim for a "1 credit clear' - that is, finish the game without continuing. That's really what it means to master the game.
 
the thing I hated in part 3 was that even if you continued you started at the begining of the level. That made part 3 much harder then 4&5.
 
That's what it's all about though, Metal Slug Advance was brutal at times but it was good to finish it, (specially after I kept fighting the last boss about 100 times.
 
They are all good, but MS3 is the best in the series. Very challenging, but not cheap at all. I still have not beat it, I can get to the enemy's space base on level 5, but Ive never seen the final boss. But at least once a week I fire it up and try a few more times to beat it. It never gets old either.

great game though, not as hard as contra, but cooler with its more cartoonish side, and verrrrrry addictive, id get 3 and 4&5 if funds permit

Agreed, I have Metal Slug X on PSOne, 3 on Xbox, 4&5 on PS2, and Advance and of those, 3 is by far the most addictive.
 
I'm on the final level on 3, I won 4+5 on ebay for just a little over 15 dollars used. :D
Metal slug is so damn good and intense.
