Anyone remember Sega Channel?

The Sega Channel was by far the best accessory/add-on of that era. No contest. I remember waiting for the 1st of the month like I was waiting for a gov't check or something. My cousin and I played it morning, noon, and night. Those are seriously some of my best memories of gaming as a kid. We played Skitchin', MK3, Vectorman. I will always love my mother for getting that for me.

Holy Christ! I remember that, I even had a girlfriend who had that... That was popular around the same time the TV show Freakazoid was on and I remember wanting it so bad... I would have slaughtered many small children just to have it :)

I remember a special zelda game released for the super famicom through a similar service that was available for only one hour ever... or something like that. It was played all across Japan in realtime with real voice actors providing the prompts and such... from what I've read ti was interesting...
Does anyone remember a special Final Fantasy released only through sega channel?
well now we look at these kinds of things as the future (what with the wii and such) but you're right in that it was ahead of it's time, especially since they picked a way of doing it where not everyone could have access to it (if I remember it was only offered in select areas... I really wish I could have had one... That girlfriend of mine never let me play hers... :whistle2:(
It was really, really ahead of its time in my opinion.
I always saw the ads and badly wanted it.

Sadly, we lived in the middle of nowhere, and cable service wasn't available.
